I think I've seen that error once or twice myself. It didn't repeat and nothing seemed to be wrong. I'm not sure that I remember correctly though!
That sounds like what usually happens when they shut down for Maintenance.
We are currently looking into this situation and expect an update soon 
Edit: I think thats happened a few times to myself over the years but always been able to log straight back on. I just took it as a slight glitch in the system and nothing to worry about.

It could also occur when you try to zone into zone 2 as it drops below the threshold for additional copies.
I've seen it a couple of times but can't remember the circumstances.

When editing your sg base if somebody tries to log in (to the base) doesnt it sometimes cause the crash since while loading the base (map) is physically being changed? Seem to recall someone saying about that though whether it was just a rumour and iv taken it in the wrong context is anyones guess.

A weird thing happened when i was zoning into my SG base. i used the Atlas base portal and during the loading screen it said 'MapShuttingDown you have been disconnected from the server' or that's a close approximation anyway. I had to restart the whole thing and there was nothing wrong with my net connection because i was watching my modem at the time.
Was just really weird, with everything going on lately i thought they'd pressed the server power button

GhostRaptor: Server populations have been trending upwards since Issue 13 release. There are no current plans for any server mergers and we're looking forward to Issue 14 and the rest of the year.
