Yes, thats called the 'Going Rogue' feature, something that the devs have mentioned and was at the heart of the hoo-haa with the Reformed badge.

I wouldn't hold my breath though its "On Hold" indefinitely becuse of iirc balance issues.

Oh i don't know i recon there moving forward with it (all be it slowly) hence the hole Reformed badge thing also i recon its one of the reasons we got pain domination as a true healer was probably the last thing missing from the CoV side.
Way may even here more post I15 as its supposed to be the big issue moving forward a lot of story stuff there's also been a fair bit of speculation that we may see a new box some time around the release of champions and making the ability to change sides a integral part of a new box is a guaranteed way to get current player spending there cash.
There's some evidence that this may form the heart of a paid expansion aimed at revitalising the game. We shall see.

i know this is going to sound like a wierd thing but Id love to see a way to switch a character from a villian to a hero or vice versa because in alot of the City of Heroes fiction,character bios and such it often mentions about villians becoming heroes or heroes tempted to turn to the darkside, plus as the powersets are roughly the same it would be an amazing thing to do just for the pure RP element of it and thinking about it other than the coding for it as the powersets and most other things are the same or similar it would work well
