Actually did a ITF last night where he only rezzed twice leaving a last nictus for us to kill.
Guessing the nictus has to be in LoS for him rez?

Yes, altho it's pretty difficult to get a nictus out of sight, cause if they get to far off they'll run back to him.
You can also choose to kill off the nictus and leav rom to last. Which is easy to do a team with heavy ranged damage (as you can pick off the nictus one by one standing at max range shooting, just ndon't use aoe or you'll aggro rom).
To get the Nictus equipment you need to do the TF 5 times, according to Paragon Wiki anyway

You have to defeat Romulus five times which normally means doing the TF twice.

Not correct, as you can only beat Nictus Romulus at most four times.
I got my nictus shield and sword on first defeat of nictus romulus on the second ITF i did.
It's 5 times. The important word is Nictus Romulus.
I really should do something about this signature.
On the Imperious TF how many times does the Nictus version of Romulus rez himself? I'm asking as I dont have the nictus shield opened up after I did that TF and I'm not sure if I should have earned it. ta.
