'Advanced' Telepad

I know that this is something that is 'mentioned' a lot, but a search on certain keywords, and a brief browse through the last page or so of posts does not return anything obvious, so I shall post it here - as it is a 'suggestion' - if there is a thread for this already, please be kind on link me to it, rather than the standard flame response of 'you simply didn't see *this*':

Given that the current telepads are labelled 'basic', are we expecting more 'advanced' telepads in the future - obviously, by this, I mean pads that can have more than two beacons connected to it.

Many people in the base sub-forum discuss the size of teleport chambers vs. price and the number of pads they can hold. Given that obtaining 'advanced' items can be slowed down / made difficult by requiring rare salvage to craft them, are 'advanced' telepads in the near future? If not, should they be?

I for one would like to see them. Our SG base has the highest level control system and power supply - it's about time we have a more refined teleportation system.

advanced telepads are things like raiding pads. I agree that the name is a bit silly.

Perhaps - but I know I'm not the only one that would like more beacons to a pad to reduce the massive number of pads needed to cover the whole city.

Would be nice if you only needed one pad sure.

But as most of my bases are red side I am in the luxury position to only need 4 of them. With the knowledge that Ourobouros is so much handier to use.

What really would be handy especially for the PvP'ers would be telepads to go to the various PvP zones.

Perhaps not 'one' pad - but even if we could halve the number of pads we use (four beacons to a pad) that would make a difference

Well I wouldn't object but you realize that with the cheaper SG bases these days it is not that costly to get more telepads? Plus if you are out of funds, concentrate on making a teleport to those places that are hard to get to without Ourobouros and pocket D.

Oh, it's not a money issue! Trust me, we have prestige coming out of our ears, and the base is nice and big - it just seems like a large, unncessary use of space, have 11-ish pads, with beacons spread across two rooms - reducing these would make the system a bit more 'compact' and easier to manage / memorise.

A good reason to use tech pads instead of the magic ones. It is hard to recognize where those pads will tp you to with those scribbly drawings.

If money is not the issue then I would try the specialist tp room path. One room for normal places and one for Hazard zones and the like.

I agree that a lack of 'Advanced' teleporters, especially Blueside, is a bummer. It would be nice to give a teleporter with a few more beacons on it, for those that a tight on room/cash etc.

It's not just about being 'tight on space', though - it's about not wanting a huge collection of pads everywhere, when you could just have an 'advanced' one that has more locations on it.

How about;

An advanced telepad gives you the ability, whilst out in the field, to teleport to any location connected to the advanced telepad *directly* and *without* having to go to the base first.

A "site to site" transport as it were

So, you click your power and up comes a list of zones you can TP to.

Ok, so you would need a long recharge on the clicky power and a long interuptable build up, but then there would at least be extra features added to an "advanced" tp.

Certainly would make an interesting veteran reward, but goes a bit beyond the OP, which was for an 'elite' version of the 'basic' base item
