constant crashing vista nvidia
Disable the SLi should clear up the issue.
as the game has no SLi support it's always a toss up whom it will work for.
Its a problem with the Nvidia drivers - not helped as they fail to properly uninstall the old one when updates are applied. The latest ones aren't too bad but you need to rollback a few versions to get a fully stable one. There are several other threads on it which will state the stable version.
The version after that gave problems with many games not just CoX
You want to make sure you fully uninstall the current drivers and then install the stable version - don't rely on NVidia's installer to do it properly.

Hello elecropunk,
The issue you are having is the same issue I had a little over a month ago when i upgraded my graphics card to a Geforce 9600GT.
Like you I kept crashing every 5 - 10 minutes with a weird error message (sorry cant remember what the error detailed)
I thought it was something to do with the graphics card seeing that was the only thing that had changed in my rig, so I checked the drivers..rolled them back....checked the card was installed properly etc etc and nothing worked (just like you have done)
I nearly gave up and seriously thought about throwing my old graphics card back in and putting the new one in moth balls heh but I really didn't want to do that because 9600GT's and as stated on the little stickers you get with them they really are the OMGWTFBFGSAUCE
So I did a little searching and found microsoft had a solution in the form of a hotfix.
Now after installing the fix I never crash and every game I own including coh all run at a blistering speed.
Here's an exert from the details of the hotfix:
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You are running Windows Vista or Windows Server...
Consider the following scenario. You are running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 on a computer that has multi-core processors. A driver on the computer calls the MmProbeAndLockPages routine asynchronously. In this scenario, data corruption may occur.
This problem occurs randomly. It typically occurs when the following conditions are true:
* The computer has some graphics processing devices installed.
* You are running a graphics-intensive application.
When this problem occurs, the system or the application may crash. The actual symptoms vary, depending on the specific drivers that are installed on the computer.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because of a race condition in the Memory Manager. When a driver calls the MmProbeAndLockPages routine, this routine may read some data that is being modified by another thread. Therefore, data corruption occurs. Depending on how the corrupted data is used, the application or the system may crash.

this hotfix you linked seems to have fixed my crashes, i played for several hrs with no driver crash , now to see if it lasts
Well if it holds without crashing, i'm glad to have helped
I can't get either hotfix to extract to my PC.
I get a message saying 'error code 40'

Try redownloading it, might have a bad download.

I'm fixed.
The problem appeared to be that the Microsoft unzipper wouldn't unzip, in the automated download process.
Once I saved the hotfix patch to my PC and used Winrar it was useable.
I'm now crash free, with Vista and an Nvidia 9600GT gfx card. The game also appears to be running a whole lot smoother now as well.
Happy days
