As far as I know, it doesn't makes any difference except to your XP. You don't get anything else instead. You do still get your normal drops etc.
The rest of your team should get XP as normal from the mobs you defeat. I don't think they can even tell that you've changed your "earn XP" setting.
You get the content you would otherwise outlevel.

You get no xp. You get no extra Inf/Prs. You do burn through Rest XP at the normal rate.

Why would it grant you XP from missions you did when XP was disabled? That would defeat the entire purpose of the option.
When it's on, no XP is earned. When it's off, XP is earned. Simple.

Superguy does some missions which give XP, but he doesn't get XP because Earning XP is turned Off.

It wouldn't defeat the entire purpose. Because you would be able to experenice as much content as you like in your current level range without outlevelling it, then turning XP back on and then you recieve that XP and outlevel the content but no worries - you've done it!
That basically means you can do the content that you wanted to do without outlevelling it and still be the same level with his friends, Supergirl and Superboy.

If you want to be 100% sure this would take about 1 minute to check for yourself (just defeat a single xp-giving mob with xp earning turned off, rather than do whole missions).

In that situation you're not earning xp, you're leeching xp. 
What do I (team) get when disabling "earn xp" option, besides I not getting xp? Anybody knows?
