Remove the blackout from people in Arenas

It serves no purpose, not being able to communicate in or out of arenas.

People who want to cheat by being spectators and revealing info to their friends aren't going to be put off by this, they can just use external programs such as Teamspeak, Ventrilo and such.

Like the being unable to select arena maps to 'prevent unfair advantages', it's a barrier that penalizes normal users who make up the majority more than anyone intending to be malicious.

Seconded, but not with any hope.

Even if I used the Arena last night for roleplay, that was mostly because I wanted PvP available if required. I wrote the Arenas off for RP when they announced that maps would be randomly selected and haven't been bothered about them since.

Easily solved by said people closing their chat window. Just a whack of the C key, you know? :S

How about a compromise then, a /noexternalchat command or something? Because you say a lot of people don't want distracting chat messages while in the arena, while I say that don't want to be cut out of chat because they want a quick spar with a friend.

As opposed to a quick spa.

I've always said (and some PvPers even agreed) that half of the restrictions only need to apply to rated matches anyway.
