Not weird, just bugged. 
For me, I can order my characters on one server just fine, but if I go to the other, they get jumbled up again.
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator
I know the file CoX creates to remember the character order is only created if you have the "remember me" box checked?
Have you guys done that?
If so there was a work around posted on the US forums about how to manually do it and stop it from changing but i can't find it atm.
CoH PvP SG = SuperUnion - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom

The US forums are broke right now, I'm sure the link will work once they're fixed.
The link definitely works as I can confirm all my characters are now in the slots that I want them in.

Still not working for me- COuld anyone who can get the inf copy it over for me please?
Just for reference, I did do what's suggested in the linked thread (which is basically to set the file where the character list is stored to read-only) and I haven't had any crashes on logout-and-back-in since.
Of course, they didn't happen all the time anyway, so I don't really know if this is fixed, but so far so good.

I don't know if it is a bug, I have wrong settings, or it is just WAI, but...
My toons on the character selection screen are usually ordered at random. I try to order them the way I like more, but they change everyday. Weird?
