AR/Dev PvE skills/Slots?
HI Alpha - welcome to the game and forums!
The only blaster i have enjoyed playing is AR/Dev - I found something deeply satisfying about picking targets off from a distance then hiding again
I will have a look at my build and put it into Mids late today if I get chance - I don't know how good or bad it is but it keeps me entertained !

It's sort of hard to begin to explain, ar/dev can be a very technical set. the two first aoe's arent really that damaging, but they're useful. flamethrower and full auto are your main aoe attacks for damage.
Other than that, use a mix of caltrops, proximity mine and ignite to keep a mob from charging at you. If someone gets into your line of sight, you can use the grenade to knock him, and his friend further away. Then they'll have to crawl through the caltrops and ignite again. To make full use of Ignite, you'll need your web grenade slotted somewhat.
I use hurdle and combat jumping from the secondary pools to be mobile, jumping in and out of the mobs line of sight, while using one of the 4 aoe/cone attacks on them. It's really nice, to be honest.
Here's a suggested build without a real travel power though. Some of the slotting might be odd. Also, it's the first time I'm posting a build.

Then you definitely want Snipe and LRM from munitions eventually. Cloaking device to hide, caltrops etc. for defence. I'd post Lead's build but she is more the constant stream of hot fiery death approach than boom!headshot.

If you want to snipe, put more range enhancement into your powers, and slot your knockbacks with moar knockback.
Other than that, my build had all things mentioned, up to lvl 40
If you want to PVP a Blaster, namely an AR sniper type, I would definitely go for tough and weave from the fighting set. Stealth and Invisibility give you the jump on most ATs as well. Body armour from the munitions epic should be useful too, as would the rocket launcher.
Im still working on my own blasters, seeing as I've been blitzing my main characters. Just my 2 inf worth :P

thx for the advice Techbot_Alpha, im more looking for a nuking PvE build
LRM rockets, Full Auto, bit of body armour probably, scrap the stealth and cash out on all the attacks. Targetting drone, auto-turret, all the explosives.

AR/Dev really relies on the box of tricks provided by Devices to bring down the bigger mobs. With a combo of soft control from Beanbag and Tazer. You'll have to decide just how much you expect to end up soloing. If it's alot then I recommend you invest well in the Devices, primarily Trip Mines, Cloaking Device, Gun Drone and Caltrops the rest is a matter of personal taste.
I can post up the build for my AR/Dev this evening, but she is partially geared toward providing buffs for the all AR/Dev team she's part of.
She's not perfect by a long shot as I've added IOs a bit haphazardly. The basic idea is that she acts like a passive buffer for the rest of the AR/Dev team she's with (other team members have picked powers from the Medicine pool or Leadership pool, or both). If she were to take an all-out damage role in the team then I would replace Assault and Tactics with Flamthrower and Ignite.

Hey steam, was wondering 1 thing...
when i look at your build in my Mids with alittle of modifications it says that slugs and burst does: Slug 316.8 lethal, Burst 206.5 lethal.
but when i remake a new build from scratch putting it exactly as you have with all enhancements etc, just changed the origin to tech, mine only shows: Slug 207.5 lethal, Burst 141 lethal..

It could be the level of the IOs in your build or that you don't have Assault toggled on (although I doubt the difference would be that dramatic). I'll take a look at your build on Mids' when I get home tonight.
IOs are set to lvl 50, and can you press something to toggle assault on in mids? :O
Assault can be toggled with the little button to the right of the power (green=on, black=off).
I've had a chance to look at both builds on Mids' and I'm getting your damage for build's two attacks showing as 316 and 209. The damage for my build is lower, probably because of lower IO levels.
I think the Chance for Build Up IO is skewing the math.

Here is Lead Hose's build. Basic tactic is to summon the turret, drop a ring of caltrops for defence and then pound the attack keys to keep up a constant stream of hot fiery death. With Hasten up, Full Auto recharges about every 20s and while I left out Snipe, Slug has about the same range with no chance of being interrupted.
Warning: likely to attract abnormal amounts of aggro!

I'm playing a AR/Dev Blaster too atm, I'm level 44 & have changed my build a bit while leveling, I finally decided on the below build. It relies mainly on attacking powers and knockback, I don't have much from the devices set but what was essential. I also have Personal Force Field for when I'm about to die. Saved me a few times! I'm not sure if I'll keep Repulsion Field as last power,I might swap that to Caltrops instead.

Hi there, im kinda new to CoX, hi hi =)
got myself started with a AR/Dev i really liked after trying about every combo there is, and was now wondering if some hotshot to AR/Dev could help me out with some builds for PvE, mostly with.. like.. usefull skills, and how to enhanceslots, and where the enhancements slots should go =)
I have searched the forum, but i didnt get Major Pains build >.>
Much appreciated if it was made in Mid's Hero Designer, in that way i could check it as i grow =)
