No it would not be a wise move. And you forgot an important difference: Shockwave does not debuff Resistance. Also, Howl does like one third more damage, as well.
Can't help on Corruptors but I'll apply what I know from my lvl44 Sonic/En Blaster. I'd say take Shockwave only if you haven't got any other control powers. Sonic has three soft control powers:
Shockwave: Knockback - a bit pants
Siren's Song: Sleep - Ace for soloing, pants on teams
Screech: Stun - all round stunning goodness
I rate the last two but leave Shockwave well alone. Besides, unless you're knocking a spawn into a wall, knockback will hamper a /Kin's effectiveness as it could scatter the mobs. The only thing I find annoying about Howl is that its damage is a bit low and as it's such a wide cone, it can be a bit of an aggro-grabber.

As I said, I have Screech and Siren's Song in my build but I generally forget about them until I go back to soloing 
I was just thinking on taking Shockwave cuz it has nice animation and less annoying sound 
Howl does -res shockwave doesnt for that reason alone its worth taking especially with kinetics

I'd advise against Shockwave, I've teamed with various Son/[X] Corrs that have taken it and it didn't help so much. On my own Son/Son I have pretty much everything BUT Shockwave due to not being able to find a decent place for it in a team or solo, everything else I can.
Try it if you want by all means, its why they made Freepecs and Trials.

Shockwave is almost exactly like Gale. If you're the kind of player who can and enjoys using Gale, then you should enjoy SW too.
I take both powers on my Sonics. Sometimes a KB is a lifesaver.
Hey I have a lvl 47 Sonic/Kin corr and I was thinking on respecing out Howl and replacing it with Shockwave, would this be a wise move? I mean theres not really much difference just Shockwave has KB which can be useful in solo since when teaming my most common chain attack is Shriek, Scream and Shout and even a lil Screech in there for thoose stunner/sappers
