Sets and IO's for an AR/Traps
I have a dark/traps, and my plans to IO him out involve +defence as a priority (he is part of a duo, with FFG and maneuvers, we're a smidgeon off the soft cap), and +recharge after that.
If you like, send me a PM and i'll try and knock something up in Mids that focusses on recharge? Outside of that, all i can advise is procs on Poison Trap, Hasten, and a few sets for the traps (Sadly, the only decent ranged set for bonuses that isn't the purple one, stops dropping at level 40...it's like gold dust)

Thought I might as well add to this Post than create another one.
I also have a rad/rad that I am looking to kit out, Has anyone got any examples of there builds or what they would suggest. I have had a go myself and have slotted "Touch of Lady Grey :Chance for negative" in most primary attacks.
I would appreciate any help if anyone has any very effective builds.

Not quite sure what you'd be aiming at for a Rad/Rad. Guess more rech wouldn't go amiss, seeing as one quick detoggle renders you useless while they recharge.
The LG proc is nice, but i do recommend the Achilles' Heel proc, in the attack you fire off the most. A nice bit of extra -res.
If you really want a mids code for it, i can knock one up later tonight, but i'm of the opinion that it's pretty hard to go wrong on a Rad/Rad, and there's not a massive performance improvement you can get, outside of more recharge so that your toggles and attacks are up faster.
I was hoping for another reply of you Xemulas you Ar/Traps build helped me a lot.
If you dont mind having a go at mids, I can compare it to the one I have made. (I know I can change powers on there easily but so I dont need to alter the build much, my character doesnt take irradiate but both neutrino and x-ray instead)

Hello again Sullster.
This looks good. Only a few points of personal preference that i'd change If it were my toon:
Procs in Caltrops. Lots of them. Not a 6set unless you *need* the set bonus. Same with manevuers, seems overslotted to me...but I guess you mainly want the (6) set bonus.
I'd move those slots into Aid Self. It's all well and good having such high +def, but if things do get through, a reliable heal is nice (all my squishies use it, 5 slotted Doctored wounds)
Apart from that, it looks tasty. Hope you're enjoying it
I would move the slots from pgt to ignite.
2 rech is fine for toebombing avs with that yummy -regen.
I also really dislike the lockdown set.
You def debuff an all that so why Foc Acc over Tactics? Why 6 slot Ragnarok for Knockback and Toxic Resist instead of 5 and a Proc from another set? I don't get stealth and Invis over Haste and SS unless its a concept thing. I don't get M30 for DPS as being better than triage beacon for HPS but then I do get the game being about socializing, concepts, personal playstyle and fun. So good build!

Just an update, Sullster has now hit 42 and this is my planned build for PVE, my pvp build has fighting instead of Leadership etc etc.
Like before this is slotted with defense bonuses in mind which is why some powers people wouldn't usually 6 slot are done so and others like caltrops,acid and poison have less slots in.
Lucky for me I have already got a Numinas regen/recovery drop from Ma which is nice.
Currently have 42.9% Ranged Defense, (52.8% with powerboost) which is more than enough defense for most mobs. For those high Acc mobs I'll have some oranges handy.

Why no Soul Drain in your PvE build though? PBAOE which gives a 30 second build-up. Yum.
Probably more useful to a AR/Traps than Power Boost, a lot of the Traps simply won't get much of a boost from PB.
And for my money Acid Mortar is one of the best powers in Traps. Why are you only taking it at 49 and one slotting it?

Edit: Guessing you're 6 slotting FFG for the set bonuses? As imo, it only needs 3 Def IOs, and it's done. It's recharged so fast and such a paltry end cost, that slotting it x6 seems a bit like overkill to me
I know Acid mortar is useful solo but in teams its a waste of space and yes I'm 6 slotting FFG for the ranged def bonuses.
The build above is currently half implemented into Sullster got a couple of sets and procs already. I would slot pgt more if the devs didnt nerf it!. As for power boost I got it to supplement my defense for alpha striking or toebombing if my stealth is seen through as it increases my defense, although looking at soul drain on mids I realised that that might be a viable option as well.

Sure on Steamrolling teams it's not that much use. Vs AVs or anything where you're standing in the one spot for a while it's gold IMO.
Powerboost won't affect FFG will it? Pretty sure it won't affect Set bonuses either.

Dont know if it affects ffg or the sets. To be honest all I actually use it for at the moment is to guarantee a hit with tp foe as even with a level 50 acc in is misses more than I'd like.

I've done something right for once?? Well its good for me as I get a 3% def bonus to all which is nice and I really needed the kb protection.

Im still kind of new to the sets and set bonuses I only ever really use plain IO's
However with my AR I find that 4 seconds for the tier 1 attack (burst) is a little too long!! I know certain sets have /recharge in but im looking for sets that may also have a global recharge set bonus in as well?
This will also help me with recharge on my traps powers , is there anyone else out there that has an AR/traps with sets aimed at recharge or just any suggestions, I looked at the black market myself but its too much to take in all at once
