Spirit Tree? Spirit Tree?!

It seems quite strange to me to find this power in a control set.

Yes, I understand not all sets are created equal... and that is good because diversity is good and all powersets have to have a unique feel but... really... a "healing" power in a control set seems quite weird.

I just wanted to ask for your opinions. Not asking for it to be changed of course just asking if you think it is a good power in the set (I plan to skip it myself).

I played in a team with a spine scrapper and a planty. Scrapper herded into a corner and the planty planted the tree in the corner and held em. when the mob had gathered me and another blaster shot stuff, worked great.

its not a good power...period, not in the set or alone, the regeneration boost when you look at it isnt enough to assist the squishies, or provide a notable boost to those using regen.

Most skippable power ever.

It's an awesome power for soaking up dot damage in a long firefight and as previously quoted great for blocking doorways to make a retreat.
Obviously it needs slotting to make it worthwhile (5 doctored wounds IO's).
I dinged 50 on my plant/thermal troller last night and find it great.
Half the battle is knowing when to use it because it isnt much good when ppl are on 1/3 health and taking damage.
Best to try it for yourself and see what u think after a few missions.

I only used Spirit tree on my domi, but there it was a great lube, made life much smoother. Most people think it is not good because you cant see big shiny numbers when it's on. But it works for sure, if you learn to use it and slot it properly (put it down, and tell the tank/scrapper to pull the mob to it).

Totally disagree with this guy I have a lvl 50 plant/thermal troller and this power rocks, it's a nice addition to your heals and your teammates will love you for it except maybe this guy

I've only got it on my petless MM and you don't get any squishier than that. Its a huge boost to survivability for any battle thats relatively static - if you're in a team thats steamrollering through the mobs taking them down in seconds then yes its pretty much pointless but for static fights - AVs, Zombies, Rikti, MS Raids or solo it is extremely useful.

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Oops I was of course thinking of Triage beacon on my MM but tbh the comments still apply equally well to Spirit Tree
