Let us select from a list of Veteran Rewards instead of waiting for them.

I've always wanted this, for obviously selfish reasons, but taking the wider view Praf and Shadowe are absolutely right.

As for whether the later rewards are rubbish, yeah some of them are for some people, but there are still things I'm looking forward to - mainly costume pieces: I use the Samurai Armour pieces a lot (more than the wings and trenchcoat tbh), but I'm still looking forward to getting the Tech Sleek costume pieces (I use tech armour pieces a lot on my characters), the boots/shorts from the Boxing set (I think it's insane that male characters can't actually get shorts of any kind until they become a 39 month vet, though) and the faction symbols for chest detail.

What I don't want to see in the veteran reward system are costume pieces that you can't get basic versions of anywhere else. Wings are fine, because you can get some from inventions, even though two are vet reward only. Trenchcoat is arguably fine too as that's only a 3 month wait. Samurai armour I think one of the 3 styles should have been offered to everyone, with the other 2 being vet reward only. There are 2 kilts unlocked by vet rewards - why couldn't one of those have been given to everyone, and the other kept for vets only? And shorts as I mentioned - males cannot get shorts anywhere until they become a 39 month vet, and then the shorts are obviously boxer-style - that's fine, but everyone should be able to get some normal shorts as standard.

I want vet reward costume pieces to give extra options and extra styles - but not things that non-vets can't get in any shape or form, because that kills certain concept/costume ideas that non-vets might have.

I believe what Heroishere is trying to express is that all the Veteran Awards should be redone/re-jigged.
A lot of people feel the same.

exactly! 45 monthes is nearly four years... only a respec?! I am disappointed.
The veterans players are not considered on cox.

No, 45 months nets you: Trenchcoat, Greek Alphabet, Belly shirt and kilt, Ghost slaying axe or Sands of Mu, the pre-order sprints, wall mounted weapon displays, angelic and demon wings, samurai armour, shoulder cape, base teleporter, CoH comic covers, anime tech armour, signature group emblems, signature hero/villain items for your base, Nemesis staff or blackwand, Arachnos Flyer or Longbow chaser, a pet, boxing set, assemble the team power, nine costume changes and four respecs.

and when you're lvl 50, does a respec really matter anymore?
maybe for one time use to fix the tiny mistakes you did, but after that you're stuck with respec you can't do anything with.
i currently have one respec for it's 9 month veteran reward, but it's close to useless for me.
good to fix my older characters, useless for my new characters.
the same with costume tokens, i have god knows how many but all i do with it is play around.

You'd be surprised how many respecs you can use in this game if you've been playing a long time.

What I would like to see is rewards that really do identify veterans. To explain it took me 4-5 months to realise that if you check someones vet badges when they start wagging there jaw at you then you have some idea how informed someones opinion is. If vets carried some sort of coloured aura say then you would know who you where talking to as it where.
red-1 year
orange-2 year
etc....

The problem with the 45 month reward is that it gives you something that in previous rewards was just a little bit of extra added to the main reward. The VR system in itself is fine IMO, but the 45 month reward needs something added to it.

Personally, I just see the vet rewards as a means to "complete" your toons; things that aren't really necessary but quite nice to have. Some are more useful to me than others, but I wouldn't see any of them as "good" or "bad" quite frankly.

and what about those with multiple account like me (and several of my ingame friends)?
my main account is 21 month vet. my second account is only 6 month vet.
you shouldnt judge people by looking at badges as some people learn very fast and others never really understand what they are doing (i have an ingame friend who's 36 month vet and still has to ask about EVERY part of his build)

on topic:
i dont think there are any bad things in the vet program. pretty much everything is "new" compared to what we had before the vet program started. we didnt have trenchcoats or greek alphabet. free costume tokens were given when the devs felt it was in its place and we could only get 3 respecs (and those we had to fight for and still do).
it can always be argued that some things arent as "good" as others but in the end we didnt have any of these thing before I8 and the vet program.

on a personal note i would like to see my vet status of 21 months added to my second account. it's still the same person playing no matter what account i use and i pay for both of them.

jbWarsmith out!

P.S. the last note wasnt not entirely true... my GF pays for both my account. i pay for our internet connection
