Kickboxing Powerset

A while back, players complained (more like muttered) that most of the new Melee sets are going to be weaponry, and by noticing that Martial arts is too flashy and Super strength is too brutish, I decided to come up with a powerset that recycles many powers from both, the result is 'Kickboxing', so heres the layout. (as scrapper, powers can be switched around for other AT's)

1) Roundhouse melee smashing, minor (Thunder Kick animation)
2) Body Blow melee smashing, moderate (Boxing animation)
3) Toe Kick melee smashing, moderate, knockdown (Kick animation)
4) Build Up +DMG (Build up animation)
5) Sweeping Kick PBAoE smashing, moderate, knockdown (Dragons Tail animation)
6) Taunt taunt foe (taunt animation)
7) Bazooka Kick melee smashing, high, knockback (Crane Kick animation)
8) Uppercut melee smashing, superior, knockup (Knockout Blow animation)
9) Shaking Stomp PBAoE smashing, high, knockback -ACC (Foot Stomp animation)

I think the main reason for a lot of grumbling about MA is it has to many kicks.

So no to this suggestion.


I really should do something about this signature.

Maybe another Melee Set that would be better would make use of weapons, as there is already 1 main punchy(SS) and 1 main Kicky(MA) which doesn't leav a lot left.

So how about a Gadget/Device melee set,... Its not quite as blunt as another weapon, and although the animations would have to be made there is lots of fun things you could do.
So as a counter suggestion how about something like this ?

1) Handheld Taser (You thrust your 10,000 volt taser into the enemy ) - Minor NRG Damage, Recharge Fast (chance to stun)
2) PowerGlove (Clamping down on your Foe the glove leaves a lasting impression on your foe) - Moderate NRG Damage, Recharge Moderate
3) Force Cube - (This device is rigged to go wrong, cauing dmg to everything it comes in contact with) - PbAoe 10ft, Minor Nrg Damage, -Foe Endurance, Foe KB, also damages self. (Was thinking that the animation could be created with a mix of Invention creating Rubix Cube, and Short Circut.
4)Overload - Similar to Rage
5)Grapple (Cross between Snipe+TP foe) - Ranged HighDamage Snipe, sucessful hit pulls target within melee range.
6)Flare -(Flash animation from Ill set) PbAoe Taunt Foe
7)SmokeScreen (Using smokeFlash animation) - PbAoe Foe -Perception -Acc -Def (chance for Confusion)
8)Plasma Discharge - VeryHigh Nrg+Fire DoT Toggle, (With a huge endurance cost this could only be sustained for 2-3 seconds. Short range such as 3 - 5ft)
9)Recharge(Drawing power from around you this device can recharge all power cells) - PbAoe 15ft Foe Moderate Damage+Immob Self +Recharge +Speed +Regen for 15seconds


Rough Idea, not a comprehensive one like statesman_4_prez but maybe it could spark debates??

I was stuck on trying to get an Idea like that, so I think that would be a perfect new powerset for the scrappers who want Multi-damage typed combat. so may I add:

1) Handheld Taser (melee energy, slow)
2) Riot Baton (melee smashing)
3) tranq Serum (melee lethal/toxic, sleep)
4) Build up (+DMG)
5) Sonic Disruptor (PBAoE energy/smashing DoT, -ACC -Preceptiion)
6) taunt (foe taunt)
7) Grapple (Ranged lethal, immobilise)
8) Poison Dart (Ranged Lethal/toxic DoT)
9) Flare (PBAoE Fire/Illusionary DoT, knockback)

now for stalkers, there would be an assassin attack, but what would it be?

oooo yeah they are pretty good, could maybe mix and mash em.

Stalker Strike could be a Bio Bomb attached to the Foe. Special Damage ( Extreme Toxic/Smashing/Fire )


Carlsberg don't do Farming,

The problem I see, States, is that you'd have redraw on a lot of those (too much for stuff in the same set).

hmmm, I see your point...

How about if it just quickly shifted shape into the next device to save time, as if it was a Swiss army knife, but alot more deadlier.

Surely as long as you don't want the toon to be carrying something by default you can use normal animation times to draw/fire/replace any weapon the 'redraw' concept surely only exvist because weapon animations need you to be holding the weapon at the initialization of the attack animation.
