Sewer Network Contacts
My next journey into the contact road!
Maria McCruchon
Zone: Sewer Network
Level Range: 5-10
Missions: 4
If not contact: I am very sorry, but I don't have anything for you. Perhaps <contact name> has something?
Introduction: I am Maria McCruchon, a secret undercover agent for the Freedom Phalanx. They have sent me here to cull the numbers of the criminals. You can too. You are <hero name>, I presume? Ah, yes. Right. Let's get on with this.
1. Stop Vazhilok/Hellion trade
The Vazhilok and the Hellions have been reported to be trading some sort of machine. I need you to get over to their location, stop them, and get that machine. I don't know what this machine does, but I know it could be dangerous. Eliminate the leaders, and take the machine. Got that?
Objectives:
Defeat Lundo
Defeat Flame Manipulator
Get the machine
Mission Complete!
2. Research machine history
I need you to do some research on the history of this machine. All we know so far that it looks like a medical machine and has the name B-890. We're heading you to a secure location full of Longbow, so you're safe. Nope, no enemies at all. Just head over to the Longbow database, plug that machine in, and find out about it. Simple as that.
Objectives:
Research machine history
*Once you research the machine's history, all the Longbow in the area turn into Vazhilok*
New Objective:
Escape the area
Mission Complete!
3. Destroy transformed Longbow
This is scary. The Longbow transformed into Vazhilok? That is so weird I think I'm going to throw up about it. Ah, it went. Never mind. From what I learned from your findings, the machine has a pre-planned blast which shoots any Longbow in range and makes them become Vazhilok. OK, you need to get to a area which I have detected has Longbow transformed into Vazhilok. Destroy them all, and return to me. Destroying the machine might not just put a stop to it all. If we're one of the few to get to these machines, why are many Longbow exposed to it? Perhaps there's more of these machines. Go there and find out where they are. Got that all?
Objectives:
Defeat all transformed Longbow
Find location of other machines
Mission Complete!
4. Destroy all the machines
Well, you found the locations of the other machines. No waiting - go to those machines and destroy them before more Longbow are exposed to it!
Objectives:
Destroy 3 machines
Defeat Shakla
Mission Complete!
You are awarded a choice of TO Enhancement.
Ending: I could see why the Hellions wanted it. Longbow are a problem for them. Vazhilok find them a problem too. I'm glad you stopped such a crisis like what you've seen happening on a global scale. We would fall apart big time. Take the ripped clothing of one of the Longbow you've defeated: it may remind you of our journey together. But, unfortunately, I have nothing left for you. You must continue your journey as a hero. Goodbye, and I hope to see you some time in the future.
Souvenir: Ripped Longbow clothing
Souvenir Story: As you look at the ripped clothing of one of the Longbow you defeated, you let a tear shed of what the Vazhilok have done - transformed normal humans into diseased animals. It's a story you like to call...
Peacekeepers Transformed
It all started when Maria McCruchon wanted you to help cull the numbers of criminals in the Sewer Network. She started you off by stopping a trade between the Vazhilok and the Hellions, and getting the machine they were trading. You succesfully got the machine and stopped the trade.
With little knowledge about this machine, you went to a secure Longbow-filled area and you researched the machine. You learned horrible things: and things in there were about to get even more horrible. You had learned that the machine could turn Longbow into Vazhilok, but it was not long before the Longbow turned into Vazhilok and attacked you! Escaping with what you had learned, you fought your way to the exit.
Maria was horrified. So were you. She sent you to a location where there were Longbow turned into Vazhilok. You destroyed them all. You also learned that other machines were produced, allowing more Longbow to be exposed!
It was time for this to come to an end. You found the locations of the other machines and destroyed them. You also destroyed many transformed Longbow in the area. The end of it all: you had destroyed helpless Longbow transformed into Vazhilok. You felt guilty, but confident for the future. There will always be a place in your mind for this story. The story where the Vazhilok destroyed lives.
I've done this in the style of the "guilty" Story Arc, a bit like when you destroy Wrech villian side. There needs to be more of those kind of arcs in the game, so I put 'em in there.
Feedback again!
C'mon dudes and dudettes, where's your love for the Sewer Network? I might make another one if you respond...
Here's a little something. Well, a TF for the zone! I know there is a Trial but that is in Abandoned Sewer Network and this is a TF not a Trial. I'm making it low level for the sake of new players getting introduced to the game! It's short though, so people can't get to level 14+ and not get XP. Because that will cause outcries of doom!
Hawkwind - Sewer Network Task Force
Zone: Sewer Network
Level Range: 5-10
Missions: 6
Introduction: Hello there. I am Hawkwind. I have been protecting this city - and the Sewer Network - for years now. But something has come to my attention - something very important. I am showing you it. But I need to give your team a name maybe. Perhaps [Task Force Name] will do? Ah, yes, that will do fine. Let us begin, shall we?
1. Destroy all Vazhilok in area
First off, some spring cleaning. I need you to clean a area full of Vazhilok. Only then will I let you on to something really important. I want you to do this to prove your strength to me. I don't go about asking some newbie hero to help me. Go, there's crime to be stopped!
Objectives:
Defeat Willre
Mission Complete!
2. Destroy Vazhilok weapons
Recently, the Vazhilok have been getting weapons. But why? I know, they're stupid. But these weapons are so simple, even the Vazhilok can use them. But don't worry - they're not using them yet. In fact, I don't expect them to use them that much at all. But this could become a threat. Deal with it as soon as possible. Go to the area I have set down for you and destroy the weapons. It's as simple as that.
Objectives:
Destroy 15 weapons
3. Destroy weapons in 1st Vazhilok area
There are more weapons in more areas. I've marked down two areas which have lots and lots of weapons. Destroy all of them in both areas, and we can continue. We don't want too much trouble with these weapons.
Objectives:
Destroy 20 weapons
Mission Complete!
4. Destroy weapons in 2nd Vazhilok area
Objectives:
Destroy 20 weapons
Mission Complete!
5. Investigate weapons shipping
I have found that the Vazhilok are shipping these weapons to unknown locations. Go to another Vazhilok area, and research and find out where these weapons are heading. No time to waste.
Objectives:
Investigate weapons shipping
Defeat Detera
Mission Complete!
6. Put an end to the Vazhilok weapons
From what you discovered, the Vazhilok are shipping them to northen German to Council. I don't know why the Council want these weapons and I don't want to waste time discovering it - we need to put a stop to it all. I've found a location with a computer that can deactivate all the Vazhilok's weapons, rendering them useless. In fact - destroy the machines - that will make sure none of the weapons come back on. Unfortunately, I've detected The Facemaker in the area. She's doing everything to prevent you from getting that destroyed - make sure she's down. That is all.
Objecitves:
Destroy weapons control machine
Defeat The Facemaker (AV)
--The Facemaker--
Before combat: Make sure the machine is protected!
Combat start: Ah, [Task Force Name]. You are here...to die!
At 75% Health: A little hurt, but nothing serious!
At 50% Health: You little troublemakers! I'll give you a true makeover!
At 25% Health: Gah! I'll keep you down!
Defeat: I underestimated you a bit...
If defeats a character: You are foolish to take on me!
Mission Complete!
Ending: Well, this is...amazing. You single-handedly defeated The Facemaker. She's tough, you know. You have exceeded my expectations. Maybe I will accompany you on your journey sometime. But, for now...goodbye. Good luck in this city we call Paragon! Oh, and take this as a little souvenir of our time together. See you later!
Souvenir: Machine wiring
Souvenir Story: Looking at the machine wiring, it's pretty advanced. But it will leave more than 'advanced' in your mind - it will leave a brilliant memory. It's a memory you like to call...
Lean Mean Fighting Vazhilok
It all started when Hawkwind asked you to deal with some Vazhilok. Some spring cleaning. You succesfully dealed with the Vazhilok. But more was to come.
Hawkwind informed you that the Vazhilok possessed weapons. But how could the use them? They were so simple even they could use it for troublesome causes. Without hesitation, he sent you to a location to destroy some of the Vazhilok's weapons.
With that done, he sent you to another two bases to destroy more weapons. You succesfully destroyed all in both.
Hawkwind discovered more - the Vazhilok were shipping the weapons to locations unknown to you and Hawkwind. Hawkwind sent you to a base to learn about where they were going.
You learned that they were being shipped to northen German to the Council. He didn't concern about why the Council wanted them. It may have been for general reasons like they wanted to have more firepower. Hawkwind found a location with a machine that could deactivate the weapons. You had to destroy the machine. But another challenge appeared - The Facemaker was guarding it! You were sent over to the base. You defeated the Facemaker without a doubt and she was tough, but then you destroyed the machine and all was well again. Hawkwind congratulated you, and he gave you...well, what you're looking at. It's the wiring of the machine you destroyed. It may be destroyed machinery, but it still will leave a question boggling in your mind - could there be more villian groups who could use these simple weapons? Where did they come from? Who made them? Maybe time will tell. Until then, only a souvenir and a memory of this is left. But it will live in your mind forever.

So Phantom, if/when the content editor comes out, are we ever likely to see you again?
Excellent work and some obvious thought gone into these. Thumbs up
I allways avoid the sewers as much as I can. Unles i need the fast way to get the hunt badges of course.
But with a few contacts in there I might be perusaded to enter that smelly realm. I wonder though about the first contact. Isnt level 1-5 not a bit to dangerous in there?
Besides those levels are easily coverd with the tasks you can do for your first contact.
For the TF, up it to level 13. So that the trial accounts can do this one and benefit up to their max level of play.
Teeny tiny problem.
These missions would be really painful for a soloer. Unless ofcourse the spawns are rewamped ofcourse. Or a huge warning sign under each mission briefing that says its meant for teams.
Other than that. It is an interesting suggestion.

Not really, a troll through the Atlas Park Sewers has lots of level 1-5 enemies.

As there isn't much level 13 content, well, except the 10-15 contacts, I think they would much prefer to create new characters, not munch on TF, or they would just upgrade to full account.

How? If you were on Heroic and a soloer you would only get Minions and Lts, and 1-3 enemies in mobs isn't that hard for any AT in paticular that I've played.

Was talking about the spawns in the sewers. Those are usually to big for a person to handle alone. And getting to missions could be dangerous aswell.
Not bad except I wonder about the level range...
The sewers can be used for fast levelling at the lower levels, which makes me think that either:
* Soloers and very small groups may be killed before they get to missions.
* By killing mobs en route, larger groups may have outlevelled many of the missions before they even get to the mission proper.
Now if there was a sewer level range between the normal sewers and the abandoned sewers (maybe the not-abandoned-but-not-many-people-seem-to-visit sewers) then this would fit better. Or if the lower ranges (for missions) were bumped up slightly.

These are actually going to be in sewer mishes, you go through a drain sort and it's a sewer mish as normal. It's not set outside.

And where are the missions located? Inside the sewer system or outisde? As in for example would the mission entrance be in Atlas Park or in Atlas Park Sewers(as in Atlas Park part of the Sewers network)?

They're inside the Sewer, but I was thinking maybe have a choice to go to either 2 locations for missions, 1 at the entrance so soloers don't have to plough through and 2 someone in the middle of the Atlas Park part of the sewers if you're a bit more daring and on a team. What ya think?

I thought the game engine worked like set map then it does a random mission location but you can put down specific locations? Eg, helicopters in RWZ, and submarine in States TF?
I don't think the game engine is capable of handling two separate entrance points to a single mission right now (unless I misunderstand what you're saying, of course, or unless you misunderstood me).
My point, though, just to clarify, was that you said players would have a choice about trawling through the sewers, or going straight to the mission from the sewer entrance - when I click on the sewer entrance, how is the game engine meant to know which one I want to do?

Goes like this - you have 2 choices for that mission while your talking to contact. One says "x mission (location 1 - sewer entrance point)" and the other says "x mission (location 2 - random sewer location)". Choose one, go to the one you chose, like normal missions.
Also, I can't see why the game engine couldn't handle it - if you can have same map, same enemies, same spawn size on different missions, wouldn't the text not be a problem? Becuase I guess you're talking about the mission text.

You would need a selection pop-up, as with trains or Base Teleport.
Of course, this is largely ignorable. I haven't done a Hollows mission since my first character (when I didn't realise you could just ignore them). You could be sent to a contact just inside or outside a sewer entrance, say hello, and then not bother doing any missions, just like the Hollows. It gives an optional mission path for people who want to team, and soloers could skip it.
Disclaimer: The above may be humerous, or at least may be an attempt at humour. Try reading it that way.

Ginger Rice (Sorry, I just had to make it that name, go Rice Girls!!! Oh and Heri Halliwell rocks too )
Zone: Sewer Network
Level Range: 10-15
Missions: 5
If not contact: Hi there...I'm Ginger Rice...I don't really know you, so...what do you need from me? Oh, that...nothing? OK, erm...bye...
Introduction: Hello there, <hero name>...my real name is Angela Wilson, but everyone calls me Ginger Rice...I don't know why. OK, I'm a little shaky, but...handle me. You might not have guessed, but I'm a...er...superhero. Yes. I'm a superhero. Well, not a very good one...OK, I think we should start now.
1. Arrest Ginger Rice's stalkers
Some weird guys in military costumes have been following me...I don't suppose...you, could...er...arrest them? Don't hurt them too much...don't kill them...I wouldn't want that to happen...just...put them in their place. OK? Here's the location...I'll leave it all to you...
(yes ofc the military guys are council)
Objectives:
Defeat Archon Murson
Mission Complete!
2. Defeat all Council in area
OK, thanks for that...now, they're Council? Oh, I forgot...I haven't got very far past Hellions...they're not usually in the sewers, are they? I don't think so...well, you need to investigate their appearance here...I've detected an area where there's lots of Council...defeat them, and get some information...OK?
Objectives:
Find information
Mission Complete!
3. Stop Council assault on Vazhilok
So...they're coming for weapons? What kinds of weapons? Hmm...I don't understand...wait, it says the Vazhilok didn't give them their weapons...so they're going to assault them...stop their assault, this may be more than that...OK...again?
Objectives:
Defeat Archon Worase
Defeat Murcion
Find more information
Mission Complete!
4. Find the Council's side of the deal
So, the Council were trading something back...a fair deal, they say...but what are they trading?...it doesn't say...look, I've found another location of Council...you need to get there, and find out what they were giving...
Objectives:
Find the Council's side of the deal
Mission Complete!
5. Find the Toxic Hands
So the Council were trading a thing they call Toxic Hands...a potion which allows the user to have literally toxic hands...look, we need to get those toxic hands...I detect the Vazhilok won't be a problem....but those guys...they put lots of copies on hand...look here...the real Toxic Hands puts you in full control and anyone who even gets close to the hands is poisoned...but the copies are less effective, and only activate when someone touches the hand...scary. Look, you need to get there...time is running out...they're probably using it for notorious plans...go...now...oh, wait...there might be some generals in there...watch out!
Objectives:
Find 10 copies
Find the real Toxic Hands
Defeat 3 Generals (All EB - General Tori, General Antonio, and General Serde
--Cutscene--
General Tori: Hah! This was too easy! We keep our Toxic Hands but get their weapons! Too easy! The Vazhilok are fools!
General Antonio: Don't get your hopes up. Apparently, the weapons are deactivated.
General Serde: What!? What a way to ruin our day!
General Tori: It's about to get worse...the heroes are here.
General Serde: They all must die! Let us make that our primary objective
General Antonio: Yes!
Mission Complete!
Ending: Wow, you seem to have cleared my shakiness. Now, I can speak without a pause. Your actions have helped me overcome that burden. I can speak normal now. But your actions have done more than that. They have saved Paragon from a disasterous situation. If it wasn't for you, we would be in very big trouble. Thank you, and I hope to see you again. Oh, and, take the blueprints for the Toxic Hands. I found it somewhere around your discoveries...it may bring you back to this. Goodbye.
Souvenir: Toxic Hands Blueprints
Souvenir Story: While you look at the blueprints for the Toxic Hands, you wonder how bad it could've been. You couldn've been there, and we would have a very bad future. But you were there, and you saved Paragon. It's a little story you like to call...
A Council In A Huff
It all started when Ginger Rice wanted you to arrest some stalkers following her. Soon, you discovered that these stalkers were the Council!
Ginger Rice informed you to an area full of Council. You went there and gained some info on the situation at hand. You also cleared some Council from the area.
Next, you found that the Council had not been given weapons by the Vazhilok. (If you did not do Maria McCruchon's arc) You did not know the detail of this. (if you did do Maria McCruchon's arc) You knew that Maria McCruchon may have something to do with it. (back to normal) You went to the area to find some Council and Vazhilok. You defeated them, and gained some information. But it was not over yet.
You had learned that the Council had not given the Vazhilok their fair share of the deal. Ginger Rice sent you to a location which she thought may show you what the Council's part of the deal was. You found that it was the Toxic Hands, a dangerous tool that, when used, could poison anybody in range of the user.
It was time for this to come to an end. You also learned that they were making copies of these Toxic Hands. This would be bad if the Council got away with it. You hurried to a location with both the real Toxic Hands and copies of it which were a bit less effective. You didn't find just that - 3 generals were waiting for you. You dealt with them, got the copies, got the real thing, and left. Your act was so powerful it ruled over Ginger Rice's shyness. You saved Paragon from disaster. (If not done Maria McCruchon's arc) You only leave this as another memory you will trease in your heroic life. (If done Maria McCruchon's arc) Strangely, you see a connection with this and what Maria McCruchon sent you to do. Could it be the samme thing? Or is it all just a misunderstanding? It is not know, but for now, a memory is left in your mind for this story.
That's it. No, Ginger Rice is not crushing on you, otherwise female toons would be a bit disturbed.
OK, I think that's all the contacts we pretty much need, level 15-20 you don't really visit the Sewer Network. Feedback...once again!!!
Sure, we all love the Abandoned Sewer Network. The Trial is great. But what about the normal Sewer Network? Only rarely used for Sewer teams. I'd like to see some contacts in there to get more peeps into it. Here I go...
James Sole
Zone: Sewer Network
Level Range: 1-5
Missions: 3
If not contact: I have nothing for you. Perhaps <contact name> can help you out?
Introduction: Hello there, <hero name>. Welcome to the Sewer Network. Horrible place? Yeah. I hate it too. Well, I'm part of Longbow and they sent me down here, so no excuses. I need you to help keep the Sewer Network safe. Let's begin, shall we?
1. Clean up the Sewer Network
First off, I need you to clean up the Sewer Network a bit. The amount of criminals here is rising. Even just a little bit of spring cleaning like this really helps. Eliminate 5 Vazhilok and 5 Hellions, then come back to me.
Objectives:
Defeat 5 Hellions, Defeat 5 Vazhilok
Mission Complete!
2. Find Vazhilok chemical
<hero name>, I have something very important for you. I need you to get a dangerous chemical from the Vazhilok. This chemical could posion the citizens of Paragon City. Get the chemical before they manage to produce more. This could turn out really bad. Let's make sure that doesn't happen.
Objectives:
Get the chemical
Defeat Shakla
Mission Complete!
3. Get all copies of the chemical
Well done, <hero name>. But I didn't think they managed to produce more before you managed to get it! You need to get all the other copies of the chemical! Quick! We don't have much time! If they keep the chemicals, then it'll be a disaster!
Objectives:
Get 5 chemical copies
Defeat Munro
Mission Complete!
Ending: Well done, <hero name>. I did not expect you to do that so skillfully! But our time has come to an end. I have no more for you to do. You stopped the disaster, and I must reward you. Here, take this copy of the chemical. I hope you don't use it for any harm. Maybe you could use it against your enemies? I don't know if it's that effective but...well done. You've earned it.
Now, I need to get back to work keeping the Sewer Network safe. And you can too. Just jump in the Sewer Network and do some cleaning. Goodbye!
Enhancements are awarded as TOs.
Souvenir: Poisonous chemical
Souvenir Story: Looking at the poisonous chemical, it makes you wonder. What makes this chemical so dangerous? Will you ever know? But you know one thing: it leaves you with a story you like to call...
The Poisonous Vazhilok
It all started when James Sole, a Longbow agent in the Sewer Network, wanted you to cull the numbers of danger in the Sewer Network. He sent you to defeat 5 Hellions and 5 Vazhilok in the area.
You returned to James, only to find that he had found out that the Vazhilok were using a chemical that could poison the citizens of Paragon City. Without hesitation, you left to get the chemical off the Vazhilok's hands.
You had done your mission successfully. But it was not over. The Vazhilok had copies of the chemical, and they could use them! James sent you to the area where the chemical copies were. You got them all, and you had possibly just saved Paragon from dead citizens. One thing is for sure: the Vazhilok were much less...defensive than usual. Could this be a sign that they are planning something bigger and badder? Could there be anything bigger and badder than this? Maybe, maybe not. Will we ever know? You wonder all these questions with the chemical in hand.
That is all at the moment, I'm planning to make a 5-10 one soon, and then possibly 10-15 and 15-20 ones. Feedback on this first one though please.
