Here is two things i would really LOVE to see in the character's ID, because i love making stories and i make them LONG XD

1. Make the ID text box for history ect. atleast 3 times as long

2. Make us able to Copy/Paste what we write in it

-Insanitor

Ps. i know this has been suggested before, but jeez... i got a dusin characters with half finished stories

Practically: people have been asking for this since Adam was in short pants and it hasn't happened, so I doubt it's going to. Extra characters means extra storage requirements on the database servers, and I think NCSoft has chosen to allow you extra character slots reather than bigger description sizes

Ideologically: Having a really long description of your character's looks, personality, and background is nothing more than an ego trip. It discourages roleplaying. I'm a fan of short description fields so I can't agree to this idea.

Cut and Paste would be good though. (Thought that already worked, though.)

Pasting works, but since you can't highlight text ingame, there's no cutting as far as I can tell. :\

Just write the bio in word/notepad highlight and ctrl+v into CoX. Allows you to edit parts and remove/add bits much easily.

Has been asked before but yes I would approve of this as well.

Normaly always do that, but problem is where im doing it in notepad i dont get the "bib bib" sound when i wrote to much..

Last time i used Notebad to write a Description for a character was for my WS, and the story was 3 times to long for the description XD

Cryptic needs to understand that some of us like to go into detail and make a good, detailed and catching background story for our characters

NCNC now, not Cryptic.
But anyway, I have to agree with Ravenswing here. And add that if you -really- want to tell people your char's full story, just host it somewhere and toss a link to it into your bio. *shrug*

Neverwinter Nights had a near unlimited character description 'field' and you could use it to judge whether it was worth roleplaying with the person. If it went over a page, you probably knew all about their character so why roleplay with them. If it went over two pages you could probably just put them on ignore.

If you have MS Word, or any other word processor program, use word (re)count often and make sure you don't go above 1,015 characters including spaces - that's what I do and I rarely have problems.

It's not 100% reliable because the in-game bio uses non-proportional fonts and gauges the limit by actual space and not number of characters, but 99% of the time with my bios the limit seems to kick in at 1,016 characters exactly.
