Henchmen Customisation

Heres an Idea, with the weapon customisation in the game and mission creator coming up, why not have Henchman customisation for masterminds.

of course, changing the suit completely is out of hand, upgrades would not function the adding of items/suits to henchmen properly, but I suggest we can change the colour of the uniforms and costume pieces along with minor details.

In this we would be able to add a chest detail onto the henchmen as a signiture emblem, changing thier weapons into whatever others you like or even changing the colour of your henchmen to suit your personal likings.

an example is the standard merc soldier, change his suit to a military green, adding an emblem to his jacket and changing his gun to a more prefered one, this would personolise your own squadren of soldiers to look however you like

This seems possible with the same screen as the arachnos widow/soldier costumes, unable to change much, but colour tint and customise a small part of the costume.

hope you all like the idea

henchmen customization has be mentioned before and will prop come into effect in some issues down the line.

I can't recall if it was Positron or Castle that said it, but as far as the Devs are concerned henchman customisation is a very unlikely addition - it's basically power customisation, and as much as the Devs want to do that it would basically involve a re-write of the whole game engine. Not impossible, just economically unfeasible.

I would prefer to have sets for henchmen, a bit like there are different models for weapons.
Obvious choices would be clockwork style robots, a pirates version of ninja, family/monks style gang, and so on.
Maybe even some unlockable ones like archons or vanguard styles.
It would add a lot more then simply having green merchs with your SG logo.

I'm sure that would be more feasible, but they'd have to show up as separate powersets - so, for example, you'd have "Mercenaries - Soldiers" and "Robotics - Bots" for the existing powerset, but "Mercenaries - Spetsnaz" and "Robotics - Clockwork" as a variant powerset that was identical in gameplay, but used the Spetsnaz and Clockwork models already in-game.

Though the Devs would still have to create all of the upgrade animations on the NPC models themselves from scratch, so it still wouldn't be an easy/quick job. Plus some of the power animations wouldn't match up (no Clockwork models in-game have rocket launchers or plasma blasters like the henchman robots). It would probably end up being almost as much work to create variant sets as it would to create completely new sets. And also every time the Devs changed a power in a pet set they'd have to make sure it was changed in every variant set too, so it would increase their workload when balancing/changing powers.
