huge problem with trial version

Hello guys,
I have to say my first 2 hours with the game have been a major disappointment.

First of all the game crashes after I honestly spend almost 2 hours trying to create the perfect character, just hung up when clicking the tutorial join button. great start.

Now I created a throwaway character to check out the problem but everything was fine, I could join the game now. However after exiting the game to desktop, now everytime I want to start it the Cohupdater wants to download the whole client again and I cannot join the game.

Please help somebody, my frustration right now cannot be put into words

Humm it does do that occasionally, with the char creator, thats not normal though just happens once in a while, are you sure its downloading the whole thing all over again? Sometimes when it crashes it will download something but it should say varyifing and checking not downloading it will look like its uploading the clinet but its not, give it a minute or two like this it shouldnt take longer than three minutes and you should be playing. If not i'm not sure but im sure someone will come up with the answer.

Check the short cut you are starting the game from it should be for a file called CoHUpdater.EU.exe because it sounds like the issue is it trying to install the US client after already installing EU. Sadly a known bug.

As for the dropping when exiting the character creator if you spend too long at it you get kicked from the server so when you click to join the game you just get dumped back at log in.

Yea it sucks the game looks great but so far each time i've wanted to play i've had to uninstall the download again as it wont remember its the EU version and tries to download the US version which sucks...i'm trying again now for the 3rd or 4th time i've put the updater.EU.exe on desktop and fingers crossed yet it is always does this after I log out the game then try to play it again....
it is a shame there is a lot of games out there this looks great but i'm not doing this again last chance....

Just make sure your shortcut for starting the game is pointing to a file named "CohUpdater.EU.exe". If it's not, change the shortcut. If the file cannot be found, rename the "CohUpdater.exe" file or download the correct EU one listed in the sticky at the top of this forum.

Dang it i'm such a supernoob....
It works now,got the cohupdater.EU.exe file on desktop i was trying to change the properties on the coh and cohupdater.exe. to the EU one....
I'm also playing in safe mode hardly any lag..
glad I gave it one more try....

Also defrag your hard drive after it's done all the patching.
the updater has the bad habit of seriously fargmenting all the pigg files (pigg files are the compressed game files) this can cause problems especially when loading new zones
