rent out two serious chick flicks (I would suggest PS. I love you and 27 dresses ), get a nice bottle of wine and let her sit and enjoy knowing that instead of sitting beside her laughing at the heart-wrenching scenes , asking innocently "what's the big deal?" when the love of the main character's life chooses the curvy redhead over the frumpy school-marm, or letting out exasperated sighs when the main wuss... i mean heart throb does something romantic, you are instead safely tucked away at your PC playing "your silly games" and thus not annoying her.
Might I suggest you sweeten the deal with a 500ml tub of haagen Daas belgian chocolate ice cream nad leave a box of hankies within easy reach for her (you dont want to be dragged away at a crucial moment in the game to supply said lacrimonial absorbtion devices)
Then, when finished on the PC, head back downstairs,crack open a beer and sit in quiet understanding of your better half's distress at the subtle nuances of the movies ( actually you're replaying the clobbering you gave that huge mob of purples in the sewer map thus saving your teams a** and earnign the respect and admiration of your fellow gamers). Its WIN -WIN !!!

You don't know my wife (obviously), as she's not into girly girly things... so she'd smell a rat, and I'd get the ninth degree, until she weedles a long dead secret out of me... then i'll confess to anything to appease her... then she'll lay more guilt on me, until I crack... blah blah... eventually leading to divorce...!!
