Katana / Super Reflexes / ? - Respec for STF et al

Hello all.

Arctic Princess is a little rusty at the minute - she can stand up to pretty much anything that the game has to offer BUT she has yet to best Recluse (although his lackeys were defeated).

Also, IO-wise, she's very dull (Melee and Defence in the main, and she really doesn't need all that immobilise reduction that a lot of sets seem to offer).

So, if anyone has some interesting ideas about powers to respec out of (at the moment I'm *gasp* thinking about removing ALL the auto-defence powers in favour of Medicine) then please list them here.

Epic-wise, I've tried Body (quite dull, but it was very handy getting me up to 50) and I am finding Dark Mastery useful against Ghost Widow as it gives me a bit of mez to work with and keeps me out of range of that blasted self-heal of hers.

So, your thoughts and suggestions are very welcome.

your auto powers become more effective as your HP decreases, whilst I'm often noted as a bit of a nutter for fighting at low hp, it does often keep me in the battle while teammates heal me or i can pop a inspiration.

I took body mastery for a few reasons.

1. Conserve power: Means I'm still able to fight while others are resting and it makes dealing with endurance sapping high end stuff slightly easier to deal with.

2. Focused accuracy: Given that I HATE Rikti with a passion, it makes hitting those [censored] drones easier!

3. Energy Torrent, ranged knockdown power with AoE spread? Nothing like opponents on the floor to get in and gank!

As for Ghost Widow, try running towards her, then as you approach her, hit your attacks and jump at the same time. You'll start the attack mid air, and the attack will fire as you land, automaticially turning you towards your target as you do, rinse repeat...

helps to stay out of her range without having to adjust your entire build to do it.

But by not being in melee I'd imagine your damage output has dropped significantly. I'd want more def versus her heals.

Thanks for that - hmmm. I'm thinking that, as far as it goes, AP is at her best. If I want excitement with builds I think I'm going to have to concentrate on my under-50s and I may have to accept that until the 'right' team completes the STF, she'll have to make do as an influence bank for my other characters.

Cheers for the advice though.

got to admit i retired my kat/sr, PvE is just to easy until you hit the STF and it all seems to go horribly wrong. as for ghost widow well lets face it no scrapper is going to do much against her as the best way to defeat her is not get within her ******* self heal.
with my kat/sr i went for recharge mostly and tryed to get elude perma as i could this also meant i could get my attack chain down to 3 attacks plus DA but it got boring very quickly

Well I have never seen people who are melee having to stand outside of melee and that's with the simplest builds.

- Yeah that works best. Every time someone stops to type she is harder to put down.


Life Drain - She needs to target someone. Can only attack the tank with it if taunted. If the tank is outside the range of it, she can't use it and thats one heal down. 60ft in range. Even closer a tank could be had with Black Hole. Against which I hope their is plenty of taunt duration.

Twighlight Grasp - Same thing except 80ft this time. Two heals down.

Dark Regen. Now she could pop this off but then won't be able to pop it off for a period of time. I did some counting and it is about 30 secs as I had expected Dark Regen to be. I would also expect Dark Regen to get better with numbers and fair better against those with the least defense as I am sure it requires a tohit check.

In RV one can learn to tank her with a SR scrapper very easily. Her and Mako, together, takes some concentration, she takes most of it but if Scirroco is there I am pooped XD . Sometimes its not just whats in your build; its also whats not in theirs.

Her Dark Regen definitely requires a tohit checked (as proven when Nightmarer took the agro with his SR and was the only one in melee due to a tauntless team)

Normally just having the tank taunting and being out of dark regen is enough though. That's the only power you need to avoid her using providing the one tanking can stay alive. How they do that is their business not mine

GW can be taken down with a full team in melee except the tank as explained by Cynic. For PvE purposes, Elude is now unnecessary with the right sets. Just for curiosity, which is your Elude downtime? I tried a theoretical build in Mids and closer I could get was a 70 secs gap.-
