Fire/Thorns Dom...help pls

I'm really struggling to make a decent build...with hardly any of these about does anyone have any builds out there that they could post?

Anymore info? PvP? if so what type? PvE? Permadom?

I have a lvl 14 one languishing around.

Looking at power sets, it looks like an AoE maniac, so its probably best suited to team PvE (which is why I rolled it).

IN particular, the combination of hot feet and thorntrops looked particularly exciting.

Actually /thorns is darned good in pvp as it happens. My gravity/thorns has given some people more of a slap than he should have and he aint remotely specced for pvp.

But more info in what ya after for the char would assist in advising what route to take. Only thing to remember is your controls in fire are generally not "hard" controls so have to watch out, but with careful design can overcome that and tailor more on the offense side of things I'd say.

Let me say that actually, any1 that goes to pvp with a dominator has my respect.

After that said, Im sad to tell u that /thorns arent 'the best' secondary set for pvp, since they do lethal dmg (also a bit of toxic, which is nice), the redrawing time and activation times are long...

Yeah, scrappies work well with thorns/, but they do much more dmg, so no comparing there...

Fire might be good, but it has only a fast activating hold and a AoE stun, which is long animation too, maybe bonfire if it has knockdown...

All these points will make u a bit short ur trick-badge, since u have just a few. Of course u can spam ur hold (fire dmg based, so it checks fire defense), and it is the fastest one, which is the tactic I would follow if I were you.

In pve, it is a matter of teaming/lowering reputation/having fun... In pvp it is a different thing...

sorry about that...PVE only.

have a fire/kin at 50 who i love and was wanting to carry on the fire love . Thought the dmg may be good with spines/thorns thrown in

The ESSENTIAL thorns attacks are skewer, impale, ripper and thorn barrage. Aim can be taken later in the build imo.

As for fire, poor control but good dmg so overall your dmg output should be bloody good. Couple of stacked holds, then let loose with ya melees and the imps to be a nasty tanky-dom but as you are fire I would recommend some survivability in the build like aid self and/or tough (weave is pointless for doms). Another thing I did on my old fire dom was get stealth, SS and the blind power to allow real good ghosting and sneak attacks to hit and run and force the imps to charge in.

Oh and I don't care what people say - /thorns is really fun in the arena as is fire control

Doms higher up are godly and my gravity/thorns can happily solo relentless mishes in his sleep now. I've even managed (via a lot of insp munching) to solo 2 Heroes in the past as well - Ms Liberty and Numina. Nothing I ever wanna do again, very, very, very, very hard and stressful rofl
