I'm pretty sure WP isnt the best choice for PvP unless you're a stalker. You dont get high res/def/regen values, only a bit of each and regen will only work properly if someone is in melee range which doesnt happen that often in pvp...

So what secondary powerset should i take for pvp then?
Get a broad sword/regen and cut them in half happily 
Not sure how spines goes for PvP being mainly an AoE set, I'd say for PvP secondary either regen or SR for secondaries though.

Spines is the best scrapper primary not for the damage, but because it has a ranged attack that does good damage.

and dont forget -fly on their ranged attack.. impale is just a really nasty thing to get hit with in PvP. If you go pure damage, BS is best, however if you want a nice mix of quite decent damage and some soft control (i.e. immob, slow, -fly), then spines is the way to go. As secondary I'd say either regen or SR
