PVP Catfight grudge match
Longsword? i guess u mean Broadsword.
If u really wanna pwn your enemy with a scrapper of your own, u go THE FoTM scrapper spines/regen, wich has good debuffs with its attacks, slows, -fly , can criple jumpers etc...But Broadsword/regen is decent to tho, but slow. Suggest u take presence pool to and take intimidate(fear), so u make him stand still and start bashing the heavy attacks of BS , aslong u dont fight the dark armour one wich has res to fear.
Edit: But there are way more effective scrapper killers then another scrapper.
You have a Fire/Fire blaster?
Why another scrapper? theres much more effective scrapper killers

Total Inferno Ice Blast/Thermal/Leviathan Corruptor
roll a rad/psi or rad/son
or a slower, like a sonic/cold corr or an ice/* Dom. If you're a hero at heart try using a storm/sonic defender or an ice/rad controller.

Edit: I should learn to read..
Scrapper vs scrapper is more than likely to be a draw.. So better roll a debuffer or a blaster I say. Maybe even a mastermind..

With a broadsword/regen (im assuming this is what you meant rather then katana by longsword) scrapper vs /inv chances are you can outlast them one on one and soak up enough damage to hopefully wear them down and hope for some big criticals, the worst you can hope for is a draw, the best a win.
I'd suggest you take the big 2 of Disembowel and Head Splitters and use them with build-up, and fill in the gaps in the chain with parry (since your fighting a melee toon) and hack.
I cant advise you on the regen side since I specialize in killing them rather then building em.
Good luck and if you need any further advice, or practice post here and I'm sure people with gladly offer their assistance.
ice/ice dominators would chew /inv scappers up without a second thought, hwll most dominators will

I may have misunderstood the original post but I got the impression that the power sets had already been selected.

One time I had this duel with an inv brute on my Ice/Thorn, he said "No insps." His reason... he had a poorly slotted Intimidate.
Suffice to say I destroyed him, and probably would have, insp or no

Slows vs. melee = WIN
the exception being those darned ice tanks and perma-eluders :P

Rad/sonics PBU+RI and PBU+aim might be enough to hit with LR..
Edit: hum
fast healing
reconstruction
quick recovery
dull pain
integration
resilience (with just the basic slot, its for stun protection)
instant healing
There are regen powers you want.
hasten+superspeed,
combat jumping+superjump
hurdle health stamina is what I have
and the last pool well.. Maybe provoke+intimidate, so you could fear him to stand still and hit with the big attacks. Invul has no protection against fear.
dont forget the tactics

I dont find ice tanks much of a problem, pretty easy to stack over 60% slow res especially when my shiver runs at 125% slow before powerboost, SR is more of a problem with /ice lacking aim but just wait for a "elude" message to show over the head and pop FoN.
On a side note in case anyone doesnt know, domination pwns TK as its comprehensive mez and has repel res

Domination (Dominator inherent power) grants both Mez and Repel protection/resistance, thus it "pwns" TK (aka. Telekinesis)

Domination combats pretty much all status effects in the game including things like fear and confuse which are often the holes in other more conventional mez protections. Domination is (nearly) everything you can get from all of the other mez protections combined which means it has the repel resistence of entropy and unyeilding. The only thing that springs to mind that domination doesnt give is teleport resistence

The hold protection for example is little over half that of one clear mind.. But it was just the sentence that I couldnt understand. I didnt know if you were talking about extra mez or mez prot or what.
I think no scrapper should beat a decent scrapper on a duel.
Vs. any non invul or sr scrapper i reckon fire/ff trollers have petty much all the cards. I bnever lost to a scrapper on mine, but then again I never duelled any good /invul one that I can recall. Possibly a good one would have its chances tho.
Some of the ATs that have been named before should be good as scrapper hunters (rad trollers, rad/sonic, most domis), but it surprises me no one has said yet a thing about fire/kins. Imo they got the upper hand vs any non /sr scrappers too on duels
My fellow COH players, I, a total zero at PVP come to you with a request of aid. I'm slightly noobish, and being a fan more of RP than of PVP, I know very little of the matter, although I have some grasp of strategy, after getting soundly trounced in the PVP areas.
Now, for RP-related (and some OOC too) reasons, I have a grudge match with the leader of my SG. Make no mistake, she defeated me in the past (Scrapper versus Blaster) and last night my team kicked her team's [censored] soundly. Being a fire-fire blaster designed for mob-handling in PVE, I know I have no chance in hell of fighting her off. So, I decided to level the playing ground and start to speed grown my own little PVP toon. Since I have to keep within RP theme, I decided to go for a LongSword\Regen.
And so I come to you, with requests of help and advice, so she can function as good as possible on one-on-one, versus another scrapper (she has two representations of the same character - one Claws\Inv\Dark and another MA\Inv).
I have more or less an idea of the powers I should get but I am an unfortunate newb where IO sets are concerned and I would like to hear your opinion about them. I'm fairly sure our grudge match will happen not at level 50 but around level 38\40, and I'd appreciate any suggestions for pool powers, slotting, IOs and unexpected strategies more experience PVPers might have.
From fighting her on other occasions, she likes to set the match for a 10 minute limit, then achieve a quick victory and spend the rest of the time SuperJumping to avoid confrontation. Whereas I COULD deny her that advantage by forcing the match either to happen in PVP area or demanding it to be by 5 falls, I would rather be able of defeating her in her own terms --- you know, like adding insult to injury.
I thank you in advance for any assistance you'd care to give.
