A bet
I only fear regens on my stalker, I mean good ones, not the ones who acually use MoG. On the ther hand, you can't rely on your defenses if he has FA and Tactics. A lot of scrappers totally ignore defense based god modes. You need some utility to slow him down, hold him, or annoy him. So a stalkers fear in zone pvp is in the power pools and epic pools.
He shouldn't be able to see you more than 10 feet away even with (Tactics + Focussed Senses + FA) assuming you're running (Hide + Invis) or (Hide + Stealth + a Stealth IO). Your defenses are as good as gone though. I'd rather have a /NIN than an /SR stalker for PvP, since you get toys and a Heal along with the +defence.
In theory you should be able to two-shot each other (Headsplitter and Energy Transfer being the main culprits). He'll be able to hit you much more often than you'll be able to hit him due to Focussed Accuracy, but he'll not be able to see you very often (Stealth cap ftw!)... so it'll really come down to player skill.
You could annoy the [censored] out of him with Patron Webnades, or Waterspout has some good -defence and can be dropped whilst hidden. Be sure to pick up the Force of Nature accolade ASAP too for the massive +tohit buff. Can be really good for a Stalker to have a guaranteed hit on their opening few attacks.
Oh cool thx, I might go for Nin since I never tried it, I thought of SR because I am familiar with it on a few scrappers. I was also thinking of the epic hold thingie, that banana hold Ghost Widow has, not sure it will pierce his Practiced Brawler though, but must be fun on PvE.
And regarding the players PvP skills, we're probably the worst PvP players in game, so he's the only one I may faceplant and I am the only one he may faceplant, anyway, the beers should be fun and if he pays for them, they'll taste MUCH better for sure (don't they always taste better when they're for free? )
Thx
P.S.: He was asking me for advice on his build, mwahahahaha
Energy Mele is the only way to go for a Stalker if you want to PVP extensively unless of course you want to be different.
Out of the secondaries SR-Ninjitsu and Regen will all get the job done in PVP EM/SR is a VERY tight build leaving less room for goodies from pools.Ive got an EM/SR Stalker and if i was to choose again i would go for Ninjitsu or Regen.
Bear in mind you will need a heal if you want to go toe to toe with some ATs.Yes with EM you can you will also want to pick up haste aswell for your Attacks to recharge nicely for you. Also a succesful AS then an ET will see most ATs hit the dirt especially SR scrappers, but for the more troublesome one AS,ET Placate then another AS followed by another ET.
In practice though he can 2 shoot you and you can do the same to him aswell after a succesful AS and ET combo always placate and wind up TF from hide and watch him walk around like a drunken sailor.you can catch many tanks totally off guard with your burst damage just got to be very quick though.

So if someone roll dark melee or spines or whatever he wants, he cant pvp [u]extensively?[u] The fact that some people dont like things unchallenging, doesnt make them different stalkers in comparison to EM.
I agree, I have no interest in killing granites. And otherwise claws gets the job done to my liking. Nothing gives me more enjoyment then machinegunning focus from all directions

Force of nature + build up + assassin strike + energy transfer = free beer

Exactly, and claws can kill Granites with the right recharge on AS strike. Since granite is like perma unstoppable, you have to rely on AS which is unresisted.
hehe sounds good, I might try that when I get caltrops :P
Heya,
I made a bet with a mate (who btw doesn't read the forums, mwahahahaha). I'll roll an EM/SR Stalker (my first stalker ever) and he will roll a BS/SR scrapper (his first scrapper ever) and we'll meet each other in PvP zones and bet a beer or something to be paid by the pavement licker.
I guess he'll be taking FA and Tactics, so I thought of kiting him until he runs out of end should do the trick.
Soo, is a BS/SR scrapper the worst fear of the Zone PvP Stalker or are there worse?
Ta!
