Heya Decided its finally time to dip into the devilish world that is stalking

I wanna use my stalker in PvE and PvP - with an aim to go complete PvP spec for RV

I also dont want EM

So the questions:

My initial thought was Dark/Sr. the -acc will stack with my defence anabling me to stick it out longer if my AS fails. But how will i be for end?

You very rarely see Dark melee Stalkers? is there a reason? should i steer clear? Cheers for any insight

Because Dark Melee is the most crappy Stalker Primary there is!

I would take Ninja Blade or Martial Arts if I was to re-roll my Stalker (who is Claws/Regen and dearly hated ).

Problem with NB and MA (and also claws and spines) is that smash/lethal dmg is hugely resisted even by squishies at high levels, making them dependant on AS to get a kill. Ma has stuns, which can help... but so does EM and it's base dmg is far greater.
DA would be my second choice after EM for that reason

According to WHOM ?

I wouldnt go for NB in pvp, really. Your most damaging attack, golden dragonfly, has not 100% change to critical when in hide. Also not a Mez and the recharges/endurance it costs for its damage is a plain joke. Claws (believe it or not) can kill regen far easier than NB. MA got stun and can double critical, out of hide too. Spines is your Ranged choice. Its, in my opinion, an awesome set. But its boring to wait till lvl 18 for third attack which is impale. For pvp it works great.

So in short, EM or Dark > MA > Spines > Claws > NB imo.

Yeah Zaldor's conga-line of stalker goodness is pretty fair and I can't argue with it for RV and high end PvP, but in Sirens, when squishies don't have epic shields, I think Spines has even more merit than Zaldor gives them, and in my humble and biased opinion, the Sirens food chain would be thus:

EM/Spines* > Dark/MA > Claws/NB

*one can 2 shot scrappers, other can set up kills and help loads with spiking from range, as well as immobing squishies with no mez protection making their job even easier

DM/SR is a great set (yes im biased). The -acc stacks well with the pure defensiveness of SR. Piling on all that acc debuff, especially when u get Touch of Fear can leave u going whole fights barely getting hit. Only downside of the set is that u dont get a decent 3rd attack to use out of hide till lvl 32, so if u feel ure lacking, take Air Superiority and spec out of it, or just hit and run a bit more till 26 when u get ToF. Or do like me, just stand there, watch ureself not get hit, and then get hide back up, works often too. Now im 45, this set is becoming really stunning to use. Last night i tanked for a team of 4, and several times cleaned up the spawn after popping elude through useing ToF, soul storm and Midnight Grasp to full effect. Nothing quite like having everyone cheer u on, clearing the whole mass of mobs and still have enough energy left to look smug afterwards. All i can say is, ENJOY IT! Not getting hit becomes so much fun!

Same for other primaries..

Its because its a cone iirc. Same happens with Shadow Maul. Although, Eagles Claw/Midnight grap (took 2 random powersets MA/DM) Always hit Critical when you do them while hidden.

Eviscerate/energy transfer dont, again. On the plus side, eviscerate has a chance to crit out of hide.

Oh, Dark Melee is really nice for a stalker mainly for three reasons:
- The -ToHit is a nice bonus. Nobody will complain about being hit less often.
- Touch of Fear... This is so damn useful. Even EBs can be made to tremble in fear while you have all the time in the world to regain some endurance, prepare for the next AS, read a book or whatever. Personally, I find some very sadistic pleasure in releasing Mako's Water Spout right after the opening AS and stacking Touches of Fear on the helpless Boss/EB before the real "fight" begins.
And I think I don't have to mention how useful fear is in PvP.
- Critting with Midnight Grasp is downright scary.
Clearly, anyone who says that stalkers' DM is weak should really do his homework. My Dark stalker defeats enemies with ease where my Claws stalker felt like he was scratching a brick wall with a sharpened carrot.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Heh, Midnight Grasp from hide is scary, indeed. And its immob helps a bit too

Midknight Grasp forms part of my opening combo to drop an lt and a minion in very quick succession. BU+AS lt, placate 3rd mob if there or if not mob ure about to hit - MG. 2 down in a scaryily short amount of time. and if you solo on vicious, thats often the 2 mob spawn gone, if its a 3 mob one, then uve got time to wait for AS again on the third. MG's immob helps too, ile often just leave them there to play with the tentacles while i go on the next one, depending on the lvl of the minion, it will often finish them off with the DoT too. Also when ure teaming with someone with Ghost Widows immob (cant remember what its called) the combination of your black tentacles and their white cool ones just looks great!
