I would find playing the exact same sets swapped over a bit boring. What you could try is a fire/dark though, those are meant to be nice. What helped me get into villains was paying attention to the story arcs.

Oh that is true, however I am known to do that kind of things (3 DM/SR scrappers and 2 DM/DA).
As I have a couple spots in Union I'll probably try the dark/dark and the fire/dark and see how it goes.

I've played a d/d corruptor since beta and love it. If you like the powersets and are looking to play a villain, go for it. 
Fire/dark is very nice, and if you already got a dark/dark def- dark miasma is awesome stuff-, imo really try something else.
/cold set is very nice too and it seems more and more ppl discover the excellence of it, as since last 2 months or so i've seen a huge increase in /cold cors. especially ice/colds.
If your heart is set on the Dark Miasma set, Fire/Dark, Ice/Dark and Sonic/Dark are all very nice combinations.
If it was down to me, i'd either roll a Fire/Dark or Sonic/Dark...simply because, from what i've played on my g/fs D/D it lacks any real punch to play on anything other than villianous....yeah, you'll still be able to solo happily...but it take a heck of a lot longer.
Well, I have to say the original idea evolved, now I still have my dark/dark defender, a dark/sonic defender and for a corruptor, I drifted to an Ice/Cold one just to try some new sets (btw, I went Ice/cold because of your guide, Chin). I have a bunch of toons now to lvl to the early twenties (where I hope they will be safe from deletion) and on the next batch, definitely a fire/dark will be rolled, together (hopefully) with a bunch of scrappers with new sets. That should be all my slots filled and hoping for more char slots since I am totally against the idea of a second account. I'd rather use that money learning German or French which at the end of the day will be far more helpful also in RL.

I have been unable so far to get a villain past lvl 7, only tried MM's and stalkers. I usually play scrappers, but recently I managed to get a Dark/Dark defender to lvl 27 and I am having tons of fun. A friend of mine is insisting in me to roll a dark/dark corruptos seeing that I enjoy the dark defender. I would like to know if a dark/dark corruptor is resemblant anyhow to a dark/dark defender or if overall you guys think it's even more fun than the said defender.
