Stalkers are not overpowered they are just a nice AT for PvP beginners on CoX to let them get the grip with PvPing and how (i am not stating Stalkers are for noobs here but stalkers are a PvP newbie best choice for doing PvP 101 in CoX).A good and seasoned pvper behind a stalker can be a pain even solo but nothing overpowered against organised pvp teams that enter PvP zones.

[/ QUOTE ]Of course you know things are bad when you need an "organised PvP team" to deal with a single stalker. At the risk of sounding like a broken record on my first post, Stalkers have a massive advantage over less perceptive job types and can easily fell most opponents in two blows.

Just to put things into perspective, I have around 950 hitpoints as a level 30 scrapper, not including Dull Pain (which can't effectively be used pre-emptively unless you know the stalker is coming). A well placed Assassins Strike will take that HP total down to around 200, sometimes even less. Thats a massive 700-800 damage on a single hit! Any hit after this, even a weak blow, will pretty much slay your character.

The only way to avoid this is to either build your character solely around PvP (with as much Perception as you can possibly manage), use Uncanny Insights like they're candy or be exceptionally quick on the self-heals so you can retaliate after the initial strike. The latter method, however, means your heals are now on their lengthy recharge and a competant Stalker will have the means of holding their own even in a close quarters battle with their own self-heals.

Do I think they're overpowered? Well, that depends on the circumstances. Against classes with enough perception, they're pitifully weak as their Assassins Strike has limited capability. But a well played stalker can casually kill just about anything in the zone simply because they strike from cloak and hit so hard.

Like most PvP its a rock-paper-scissors affair to an extent. But it gets tiresome fighting an opponent who's perpetually invisible, making you unable to target them and fight back.
