As a player with a Radiation/Traps corrupter, I can only agree with you that it's ace. : )
As for teams, I've found random people are split. A lot of folks do the happy dance when you show up, while others will laugh and ask why you don't have a real secondary. That doesn't happen so much once you get acid mortar and the force field generators (or Poison trap if my fellow trappers are to be believed) though.

Sweet, having a good time playing so far
Whats the pvp like?
I thought if i find a safe location, i could drop some trip mines then caltrops pop aim then tp - foe on it then finish him off with Cosmic Burst
Does anyone have any experiance with the Patron Power Pools?
I have a level 31 MM(ninja trap). I am very inexperienced PvP. Was in Warburg other day with a lvl 50 Ice/Rad. We PvP, I won 4 outaa 6 I think, one being a sorta draw, with him dying a split sec after me from DoT.
Slot Hasten if its in yer build, and slot those main ones (poison trap, acid mortar, trip mine) with THREE recharges ASAP to keep em up. A choking cloud power or artic air could definetly effect a trap MM style play. oops its about Corruptors!
jared lets team up and stack the traps!

Private Dancer
As my private dancer has implied (sort of), I have very little PVP experience. I've been through Bloody Bay a couple of times and I think I'll be hitting Siren's for the first time later this week (with my Mind/Psi Dominator who is bringing me far too much pleasure).
From my experience with traps in PVP, it's awesome when you have someone who needs to get into close quarters...because all your tricks work great. But whenever a blaster showed up, it was time to hit and run. By the way, I know people say teleport is too unreliable in PVP, but with the one-click bind attached to it, it's really really easy. Being able to teleport away the moment your voodoo stops working has been awesome as I haven't met an opponent that could keep up.
I think I'm just saying this so you don't JUST get teleport for teleport foe.

PS: There's a regular traps team on union that's awesome. I can't do it usually, but if you want to see 8 characters using traps at the same time, check out the Union Villains forum.
PPS: Private Dancer, send me a tell whenever.
PPSS: From the US forum by ErlKoenig in his Teleporation FaQ:

"7. Q: What's that infamous keybind I've heard rumors about that will change my teleport experience entirely?
A: /bind lshift+lbutton "powexec_name Teleport"
-------------------------------------------------------
8. Q: Oookayy!? And what does it do exactly?
A: Hold down your qualifier key for Teleport (left shift in this case) and just left-click with your mouse at the spot you want to go. This makes Teleporting around as easy as point and click as it gets rid of the additional targeting with the ground target cursor after activating your teleport power.
I find this bind invaluable if you plan on taking Teleport without taking Hover, too.
While you can chose another qualifier (like alt or control) in your bind if you want it is mandatory to bind to your left mouse button as this bind exploits the 'select' feature of this button.
Likewise you could create a bind like [/bind lcontrol+lbutton "powexec_name Teleport Foe"] to use the same feature with your Teleport Foe (or Friend) power."

Sorry if you already knew this...I recently got shown this and, well, its made my traps character much more fun. Even if you don't travel, the TP Foe bind isn't half bad either.

Different from anything else I've played. It help a lot to know the maps and be on the lookout for great hidey holes. I guess there are 3 ways to play:
1. TP'ing players.
2. Pulling players into a prepared spot.
3. opportunist use of traps.
If you're TP'ing players it might be worth standing on something to keep them off you, like those ventilation pipes on the roofs. I find a scrapper will normally get at least one hit before poison trap takes effect. If I'm high up then I can at least use webnades to keep them off me. Getting a team to cooperate with can be a real headache since most other AT's and sets are much more mobile. This makes MM's your friends, and if they have traps too, they are your BEST FRIENDS! :O)

Sweet i like the sound of setting up a nice area of mines, acid mortar, poison trap, caltrops and having seeker drones ready then hit AIM (im Rad/ BTW) then Tp-Foe and watch the devestation.
Or set up a big trap in the middle of no-where and laugh when scrappers and tankers come in for an apparent kill
Also Force Field Generator and Scorpion Shield slotted both with 3 Defense SO's can give me some very nice Defense!
Will i be able to hold bosses and such with Poison Trap and Web Cocoon?
I hope Rad will be a good Primary to use with Traps, im going to hopefully make it a killer in PvP and great at PvE/Solo and things!
If i hit Aim before i lay a Trip Mine does it boost its damage?
My Pool powers will be...
- Fitness
- Speed
- Teleportation
- Concealmet (Maybe) For invis to lay mines next to people.
- Mace Mastery
ill try and get a decent build and post it soon!
Thanks and im sure i can think of a few other questions later :P Its so hard trying to fit all the tools into the build.
I havent counted how long it lasts, but I seem to remember the poison trap making lots of bosses vomit. Its a bit like fear where they get a chance every now and then to move again. I dont know if aim boosts trip mine damage, I wouldnt expect it to.

I'll second that. As far as I know, Aim doesn't boost the amount of damage your "pets" do, which is technically what most traps are in game mechanic terms.
Btw from what I've seen, Poison Trap makes everything vomit. While I don't know about web cocoon, I did watch a Traps Mastermind use poison trap to make Synapse (that crazy super speed hero towards the end of the game) blow chunks for the final half of the fight. So if you can use it to make a Hero churl, its got to work on most bosses.

Actually I seem to remember that pet-like powers are affected by powers like Aim that are running when they are summoned, but of course you only have 10 seconds to both lay the mine and have it go off in order to benefit.
"If there's anything worse than being sacrificed, it's being sacrificed incompetantly."
Well PVP is going ok ish so far, have done a few neat kills and also got creamed some times, well more than others, i think when i get trip mines i will be able to do so much better.
I have finally done it......
In my hero planner i have seen the secondary a few times but not thought much of it, thought that it wasnt villainy or super but...........
WOW TRAPS, its amazing, currently running it alongside radiation for the super effect.
BUT just wow, ive planned out a Rad / Traps / Mace Mastery and on then planner at 50 it looks amazing, im set on making this guy to lvl 50!
The potential damage is amzing, i cant wait to level this guy up, i hope their loved in teams and duo's by people as much as im loving this guy. That Force Field Generator's defense buff looks rather nice, plus the Triadge Beacon does look nice when positioned well. Also some nice de-buffs....Will have to wait and see what its all like...I will post more on here when i experiance powers....
So to top it off....I have found the set for me...TRAPS
