Well, from a raw power perspective MA is gimp compared to EM.
BS > CAK
TF > EC
ET = EC crit
Add to that the disorients attached to the extreme damage attacks of EM are stronger than the disorients on the minor/high damage MA power.
If you want to pvp, be fotm like everyone else and pick Nrj.
If you want to pve and be the most efficient, pick Nrj.
The only good point for Ma over Nrj is that you'll get more out of MoG (as Nrj has to stop using ET), and MoG works well for stalkers.
Other than that, MA looks nice, but is less shiny.

Don't forget Crane Kick fully crits and is nearly as good as Total Focus.

With Martial Arts, you DON'T have a character that is a cheerleader of destruction armed with giant glowing pom-poms of light.
Ever since I teamed with someone who made the cheerleader/pom-pom joke, I haven't been able to look at my character the same.
