Kin/Rad. Looking for a build and thoughts please.
Rad secondary is an excellent companion to Kin as it has alot of -def powers, which make it much easier for your attacks to hit.
Now, rad secondary is very much personal preference, but I have aim, neutron bomb, irradiate (great def debuff BTW, and useful damage after FS) Photon Torpedo, fallout and that's about it. Others will say that you should pick up other stuff, but I'm happy with my picks.
I originally had just IR and didn't bother with acro, but soon after getting lvl 50 I 'specced into fly/Hover and it's much better. With a siphons peed and a couple of fly speeds in hover it's perfectly useful as an in mission travel power.
There's a thread here about Kin's and travel powers. Read it and choose carefully once you reach lvl 14.
As a team based set it works fabulously. TBH I'd rather have a Kin in my team than any empath.
I picked up everything from Kin except Repel. Never had it, don't want it.
I run tactics, epic shield, assault, stealth, sprint and hover, and I manage just fine without Stamina, although I did take it at lvl 20 to begin with, and specced it out once I had transference slotted well. Again, others will say take it, but if it misses (and that doesn't happen very often, with the -def from all rad attacks, 2 acc's in it and tactics) then I've usually got a blue or 2 to tide me over, and you should really have at least 1, perferably 2 siphon speeds stacked anyway, so it comes back pretty quick.)
I'll say this, Kin/Rad isn't a build for the lazy. there's always something up that you can use.

@Miss Chief
This is not the build which I use on my Kinetic. My build has a few concessions towards the fact that I PvP with my Defender, not to mention more than a couple of HOs, but it's a workable build that could be used on a Kinetic, and geared towards larger teams. It's fairly similar to the build I played with for quite a long time. I built to be able to either play offensively or defensively depending on the the type and size of team I'm playing in.
You could look at getting rid of the leadership pool and IR/Hover in favour of the Leaping pool, you definitely want some sort of knockback protection on a Kinetic because you do spend a lot of time in Mele.
My primary choices are self explanatory. Some people slot SB for recovery, I do not, I expect at higher level that most decent players will make a passing nod at sorting their own endurance issues out, one slot is more than sufficient unless teaming with particularly badly built characters. I slot ID for resistance, yes, worth it if you can spare the slots in my opinion.
The attack choices are less self explanatory. Whenever I talk to someone about Radiation Blast a number cruncher always pops up and says "Neutrino Bolt does better DoT than X-Ray Beam". It does, but find me a situation on a Kinetic where you're repeatedly spamming your weakest attack and I'll be surprised. I prefer to slot X-Ray Beam first because it's higher damage for a one off attack (although the animation is longer).
Irradiate is great, pulls loads of aggro though, but very much worth it. The Defence Debuff on it is around 37% - nice for a set which requires your primary to hit to do anything.
Aim is self explanatory again.
Cosmic Burst is the dogs nads, Stun and good -Defence, all round lovely attack, very long animation, but worth it.
Atomic Blast is also fantastic, Kinetics can nuke easily and recover as long as you've a single Catch a Breath, it has a very good hold as a secondary of it, so even if you don't quite kill everything (you often wont kill luitenants if they're higher level) you do stop it from flattening you afterwards.
I don't take Electron Haze because of the knockback, Neutron Bomb because of the horrendous animation time, and because it's just not as good as Irradiate (nowhere near as much -def) and I don't take the snipe because I find no situation where I would want to use it. You don't need that many attacks so I picked the ones that best suit my playstyle, I very rarely use Neutrino Bolt, possibly those slots would be better put in another power.
The choice of Epic was essentially for Total Focus (I wanted more stuns to combine with the one I had already - that set up can stack up and stun an EB for a large part of a fight) and Power Build Up. Transfusion with Power Build Up will heal for over 800 hitpoints, Total Focus will stun a boss for bloody ages with PBU, Transferrance will drain a goodly amount of endurance too, although that's more useful in PvP for me if I'm honest.
Some people play without stamina, you could try it, but personally I found that it just doesn't cut it for the speed I like to play at.
The run speeds in swift should be flight speeds, but my hero planner version must be old, because it doesn't want to let me put them in there.

proton volley i presume
It is Proton volley, but it sounds much better as proton torpedo, and it makes the coolest noise.
And it's atomic blast, not fallout I have.
Have to say, my Kin/Rad is by far my most played character. before ED she could actually tank!

My thanks for the replies. Kin/Rad certainly looks to be a fun set indeed

I had a look for a thread on Kin/Rad Defenders but didn't have much joy.
Does anyone have any experiences to share on this set, or even a build I can have a look at?
I rolled one to see what it was like and it very quickly got to level 10 - and had fun along the way
I have a 50 Ill/Kin Controller, so i'm familiar with the Kinetic set but not the combination of Kin/Rad.
I intend to use it for team work only, as I almost never solo.
Any feedback would be helpful.
