Power choice at level 34.

Hi folks, I am after some opinions/advice on this issue please. I was reviewing my planned build for Lady Leprechaun over the weekend and got to wondering about my power pick for when I get to 34.

At the moment I am planning Thunderclap but to be honest it does not seem to be rated that much from what I can see on the forums. It also strikes me that it is just going to be adding even more "controlled chaos" than I already deliver.
This being the case I am thinking about taking instead recal friend from the teleport pool.

My reasons for this are: It will work well with the Superior Invisibility I already have to allow teams to "ghost" certain awkward missions like the Cavern of Transendence. It is a handy helpful power to have when teaming anyway (pull any in trouble squishies into my Hurricane). Unlike Thunderclap, it will need no slots beyond the default allowing more slots for other powers.

Thoughts?

You don't say but I'm assuming your Ill/Storm?

Having Recall friend is indeed good to have, particularly in some of the later missions that you mentioned.

I actually respecced Recall out of my build (by accident ) around level 43 and really missed it a lot - until I managed to get it back.

One last thing and I'm not being picky but the next new power comes at level 35, not 34.

Hope that helps.

seeing you get 3 slots at 34 I'm guessing you mean at lvl 35 right?

Shows us your planned build then we'll be able to tell you more.

OOPS!

Yeah Lady Leprechaun is Illusion/Storm and my oops for forgetting that the power picks dont come every even level at that point.

I am still in two minds over this whole idea to be honest. I do enough chaos as it is so I am not sure I really need to add Thunderclap to the mix. Also, I have Dark Pit on my D3 and to be honest I don't like the "control" that disorient brings. Having said that, Recall Friend also seems more like a Defender choice to me than a Controller (TP fallen, Rez, rinse and repeat). Like I said in OP it will be useful for ghosting some missions but is that really enough of an excuse to take it? For instance, can I use it on my Pets if I needed to to maybe reposition them or something?

For that matter is Thuderclap really that bad? Does anyone on here have anything to say in it's favour?

And it sounds amazing!

I like Thunderclap on my Fire/Storm, it's another AoE control which is nothing to complain about.

It's good for stunning minions, which it does very effectively. So if you solo and need to hold up a crowd of minions while you wipe out the bosses, it works. If you team and you're unlucky enough to get surrounded, it's a good "panic button".

Oh, and it's pwitty

It will NOT, however, affect Lts or Bosses at all unless stacked with another Disorient (from another player or a different power).

If you have a spare slot or you like it for a concept build, fine, but you're probably better off with a pool power if there's nothing else tasty you want.

For an L35 choice, Tornado is much more useful.

It's invaluable when soloing, but more situational when teaming - especially if you have a herd-obsessive tank. As an example, unleashing Tornado in the respec Reactor is very effective in keeping bad guys - including bosses - away from the reactor core and off their feet.

If you position it in a small side room, sewer tunnel or corridor corner, it can lock down a roomful of bad guys and keep your team happy.

Be aware, though, that if there's nothing for bad guys to bounce off (eg: in larger rooms or open areas) then you will split up any herds and make both your and your team's AoEs less effective.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
