New aid self question
Of all the people in a team you are most likely to be hit, or should be, and on a good team with good tanking skills should be the only one aside from scrappers getting hit by cones and blappers who you cant save from aoes etc.
Before aid self try a aoe power that has a secondary effect to buy time or atleast get your defense up. I am only considering aid self on my icetank who has icepatch atm.

Downside is NRG dont have a big 'give me a break!' power. Like footstomp, the (forgot name - stone one), whirl axe or icepatch. Normaly thats the ideal moment to use aid self, you have to rely on the stun from whirling hands.
I asume you still have Dull Pain, wich can be the panic button during fights. At the moment there are little mobs left, try to stun at least 1 (TF/ET easy) and time your aidself with the other mobs attacking.
Although i miss in the story, when do you need it? In a team, often you can rely (well..) on the healing powers of others, likewise their killing strength (hang out a bit and wait till few mobs are dead).
Solo, just run back around a corner or sortlike, enough time to hit Aid self. Personaly 3 IntRed are a bitty overdone, as 2 ++ nearly hits the same ammount of 3 evenlvls. Specialy multi-failure will drain your end pretty fast, wich specialy with Inv can be quit dangerous.
Finaly one, pop a purple or 2, then try using it.

Got aid self on my ice/em tank and well, slotted 2x recharger, 2x interrupt reducers and 2x heals, it works pretty well. Ice being the def set I seem to land aid self bout 60-80% (soo rough numbers but it "feels" about there) depending on the number of mobs. Since em doesn't have that "gimme a break power" as Sinergy_X said, I feel that you'll have even less chance to land aid self than ice/em tanks does.
My new toy, invul/stone I didn't consider aid self due to the fact that I'll most likely get constantly hit and therefor just waste up the end that it costs everytime to try launching aid self, tho I "might" consider to try a build with aid self and tough/weave (just for fun), since Fault gives me enough time to get Aid self launched.
I doubt that you can rely on Aid self to land, but hey transfer the char to the test server and try out to see if it works, cause I'm not 100% sure since I've not tried invul and aid self before so I might be wrong.

ok. I have Em/ invul Tank.
I decided to take Aid self and drop the resist eles.
The reason I took aids self is because I felt that if I lose the eles im better off because Tough doesnt cover non S/L.
Also, the Energy Tankers invul is a little harder to manage because of energy transfer.
So I figured aid self will cover the numerous 10% drops i make during a given melee.
The reality of having it though is slightly different.
Firstly I`m having trouble conceptually.
Then theres the fact in the heat of battle, despite 3 chrono wassits, it`s still hit and miss.
I guess it doesnt feel very Tankerish to me.
However, i want to do the right thing by the Tank. Sooo, you think I should get over my issues with it and persist or is there a better alternative?
