ice/cold corr recently started
They are awesome, the slows are insane, I took mu mastery for epic as felt i needed the extra end rec of powersink, now I wish i took scorpion for the web envelope. Stupid Stupid cov no epic changes. I seem to remember them saying "you cant change villain epics but they will be more powerful than hero ones to compensate" my backside.
anyway, for pvp I would do something like this (and have) and it rocks, it should be fine on the RSF with massive debuffs but some may resent your lack of sheilds, just dont team with people like that

Depends what you're aiming for, really.
If you want to be self-sufficient in your PvPing, go with Stalk's build. If you want to play kingmaker in PvP and be more useful in the RSF, take the shields and drop Medicine altogether. One of the key strengths of Corruptors in PvP is in the team buffs they can provide - I can't emphasise enough how awesome the /Cold Shields are in PvP, especially when coupled with other Corruptor buffs. A group of Corruptors providing reciprocal buffs will quickly chew through opponents, at least in Zonal PvP (having not played in a similar Arena/Raid PvP scenario). If you PvP with a team where you can trust on someone being around to provide heals, you won't miss Aid Self that much; if you're more fond of duelling, listen to Stalk.

I play in all corr teams on the US servers and yeah, sheilds can be awesomebut as i found on the EU servers a reliable team buffing environment cant really be relied upon which is why I speccd out my recipriocal invis other for invisibilty and toggle it on my stalker. Its kinda annoying to have buffs and not be able to use them in the zones.
though to put it into context, get 2 /colds buffing the team and you have a squad of SR+ villains, get 8 of them (yeah chance would be a fine thing) and its a team on elude
I do like being able to go into any zone and be totally self sufficient though

The other day in Union Siren's, we had a team with two Colds, a Thermal, and a Kin. Shortly before that there was another Thermal around, too. The buffs going around were fantastic.
I can certainly see the draw in having self-sufficient toons for zonal PvP, since you're never guaranteed a good team like that, but for a combined PvE/PvP build, I don't think I could bring myself to drop the shields. Particularly when the build is specifically aimed at the RSF, where +def is a really nice thing to have. I'd stick with the shields, and just enjoy those times in PvP when there is a team about... or recruit my SG members and get a good team going.
It does depend largely on exactly what the toon is wanted for, and how willing you are to just PvP when you can join or form a team.
As you already talking on ice shields I got a small question: Ice Shield = +Melee def, Glacial Shield = +AoE, Ranged def...meaning 2 of them (even with only those defence types mentioned) are equal +Def(All)...?! Even Psy ?!

A far as I always understood every attack got positional component (be it: Melee, Range,..) . So if we exclude ALL the attacks that have Melle, Range, AoE component...what is left ?
Toxic ? Every thorny assault attack (as toxic damage attack example) got Ranged, AoE component...doesn't it mean that they should be excluded also ?
Still looks like +DEF(ALL)...
I'm not sure regarding PBAoE thou, but always thought it just extends AoE

[/ QUOTE ]Nothing, apart for hamidon, and possibly some bugged attacks.
The point was that if a power states def(all), it gives defence against the damage types (Smash, lethal etc. Not toxic due to game engine design). So the positional defence (Ranged, melee, AoE) from the shield doesn't actually stack with something that gives defence to damage types, but not positions.

ultimatly i'm intending this as a pvp/RSF corr, so wondering about powers/pools/slots etc, what's worth taking skipping etc
