P&P Role-Players
I still have an original D&D d10 on my shelf in my room...
I have a d2,d4,d6,d7,d8,d10,d12,d30,d100 within easy reach
I won't list my RPG's as a post can't go over a page
Try Rolemaster
In the add on supplements there's a character class called the Midwife, and the resultant critical failure chart on Giving Birth....
For sheer tableness, it has to be Phoenix Command.

At Contact range, the BC can be calculated using this formula:
BC = (87 × Mass × Effectiveness) 90
BC is the Base Concussion, while Mass is the weight of explosives in the grenade, in grams, and Effectiveness is a value based on the type of explosive used in the grenade. The table at right has those values for common types of explosive.
Example: a 4-pound TNT charge weighs 4 ÷ 2.2 = 1.818 kg, or 1,818 g. Its BC is calculated as (87 × 1,818 × 1.00) 90 = 158,076. This is then multiplied by 1 + (1.818 ÷ 5) = 1 + 0.3636 = 1.364, making it 215,552. For ease, that's rounded off to a BC of 22T.

That's 22,000 hitpoints of damage, to be shared equally betwen the 100 hitlocations.
*blinks* Thats.....complex (and I thought GW's Inquisitor rules were somewhat overinvolved)
Anyhow yes I (as might be expected as one of the GM's for the Uni of Liverpool RpSoc) am involved in several PnP games (including a "forgotten realms" D&D campaign which I DM) but as for gaming systems.....well theres all the usual ones (D&D, D20 modern, BESM, Exalted) as well as some more uncommon ones (Seventh Seal, BBSW (blame Evil Adam (another of our senior GM's and well deserving of his nom-de-guerre)),Seventh Sea (pirates - Yarr!) and I believe someone managed to locate a game system who's primary concept involved psychic japanese shcoolgirls and panties.....I seriously wonder about my sanity....)
Roleplayer and member of "The Unity Vigil"
Characters: Union (Heroes) -
White Warlock Lv50 Ill/Storm Controller
Black Providence Lv50 MA/SR Scrapper
Starwhisper Lv50 Peacebringer
i tried playing inquis as straight pnp once, the session lasted over two hours, was between myself GM and one player, he killed three badguys in that time, while in-game the combat lasted under a minute... haven't done anything that silly since then.
oh gawd - i am gonna show my age here
Cyperpunk
Middle Earth
Marvel Superheores
DC Heroes
Twilight 2000
Gamma World
Star Trek
Paranoia
Call of Cthulu
D&D
Judge Dredd
I am one of these peeps who loves reading the Rule book. Best campaigns played have been Marvel (its so simple! and colour coded too), Star Trek, Gamma World and Cyber punk.
Had a great Gm for Paranoia - we played all at the table; then would have bits where only he and one member of the party would go off for 5 mins to build actual paranoia - only lasted 5 sessions though
Lol fantastic!!! I did love RoleMaster though, it was one of my favorites. Shadowrun v.1 was also awfull, the combat in particular. Full auto combat went something like this;
1. Roll to hit
2. Roll to determine how many bullets out of the burst hit.
3. Roll hit location for each bullet.
4. Roll damage for each bullet.
5. Subtract each hit locations armour value.
6. Calculate damage.
Great! Works really well with mini-guns which shoot 1D100 bullets per burst.

I forgot to mention a few games in my list that came back to me just now;

I also remembered more RPGs I own since I've posted my list (list including one funny mistake)
PnP roleplay is where it all started for me. I think Warhammer RP was my first main game for a long while in my teens, and then progressed onto shadowrun. The best games I remember playing are Call of Cthulhu and Vampire though, simply because my brothers GMing was awesome for those campaigns.
I've not RPed regularly now for years, but recently I've tried a game of Shadowrun 4th ed, though that didn't last too long. I'm planning a D&D game though (which I've never really played/ran before) so will be both an interesting change and a welcome return to the fantasy genre!
I enjoyed Warhammer RPG the only thing about that I didn't really like was the career section. It really suited the power-gamers who would say, right must become Judical Champion asap to pick up +40 WS then become an Archer asap to get the +40 BS and so on.
Combat was a bit clunky too for anything that wasn't humaniod shape because it all relied upon critical hit tables. Whereas I never found that a problem with Rolemaster because the tables were more generic. Judge Dredd had the same problem as I recall.
Personally I enjoyed WHFRP *because* of the career system Going from Tax collector to end highwayman and so on. I always thought the career system was nice to provide inspiration and marks about your character social standing, life, events. But, of course, you could also use the system to build an optimal career path to might and destruction.
my memory really sucks and my list is growing alarmingly since i've only been pnp roleplaying for a few months under 3 years now..
*Victoriana
*Dark Continant
I loathed Warhammer. Felt more like writing PASCAL; but I'm not into the really gloomy games.
Judge Dredd had that stupid character creation thing of 2d10+20 for most %skills.
Let's see, you're driving down the Megaway and a truck moves out in front of you. Roll DS on 100.
2/3 of the party wipes.
"I click on my autodrive on the Lawmaster!"
1/3 of the party still wipes.
Judge Dredd was just originally the WHFRP system ported to that specific universe. And the rules weren't adapted.
Now, there is a d20 version.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, she said the word that means DEATH to all proper roleplayers!!
Hi, I'm a level 15 Professor/Judge/Assassin/Paladin/Stalker...
D20 Mechanics: Great for creating systems, absolute tripe for actually playing them.
But which other RPG allowed you to shout;
"EAT STUMP GUN PERP!!"
Another fun thing was a to mix up your PC's Lawgivers and have them guess which one is theirs.....always remembering that the palm-print recognition system is wired up to a small explosive device.
...
You've given me a fantastic idea for a Paranoia scenario A_M :-)
I'm sorry?
Paranoia 'scenario'?
You mean you let them get past the briefing room?
Much like CoC. When I was keeper I used to make my players roll 3 characters at a time 1 to 3. The idea was that the player would develop an idea in advance of how to introduce each PC into the advenutre so that when one of their characters died or went insane (as they inevitably did) there was continuity to introduce the new character.
I think that in all my time playing CoC the highest lvl a character reached was lvl 6 before unfortunately getting killed by an animated wood burning stove.
