About bases and owning it

I'm interested how many player have they own base and how many player has access to bases.

1. Leader of SG with base.
2. Member of SG with base access.
3. Does not have access to bases.

I my self have my own base. I notice that it's little problem, because I'm one player SG. As one player SG, I live in BUG's, not in SG's. I'm one player SG, because game force me to be, as You need to be leader of SG to OWN the base. I don't wanna be SG leader as collecting members. I would like to belong to bigger SG, not just because base, but because easyer to team up, but that's not possible, because base ownership. No, I don't join other SG's as long I have to give my earning to SG leader.

Basicly as it's very nice to have SG base, I think bases belongs realy to all members of SG. Current design means that leader of the SG is the real base owner. I think that's not so good game design.

Suggestion
So I was thinking, if we could all have our own base, but just connect it to SG's where we belong. Because You can decorate You own "base part" and controll it. This way people can belong to any SG they would wanna and the SG would have more complex bases. Also if someone kicks the member out of SG, the part what the members base does comes with the player. Player would never lose the work what he/she has done to her/his part of base. If You don't belong to SG, then You don't have access to this SG base what You have, untill You join other SG or make You own SG.

<--- Co-leader of both a villain and a hero SG with a base, and I'm the designated architect.

Admittedly the villain SG just has me and 2 other players left in it now (about half a dozen of our RL friends have quit CoV, but their characters are still in the SG) - and the hero-side SG was made by two of us (the third doesn't want to play CoH)

While I agree in theory, no. It would make building a base for PvP a nightmare, moreso than it already is.

Either give us an option to have sections of the base that aren't accesible in a raid (decorative only) or give us personal bases (which may work, but kinda defeat the purpose).

there has been on and off talks about players getting access to some sort of apartment basicly a mini base of there own to do with as they please but actuly hard information on this subject is rare at best

There isnt a problem on earth that cant be solved with the proper aplication of hi explosive's

Personally, I own my CoH base, it's pretty much, Me, My bro, and my mates...

And On CoV, I'm in 2-3 different SG's and I'm not too fussed about changing permissions because it's the leader'd base not mine..and I wouldn't want someone to change my base around..

I like the idea of having your own section, But it would have to be something like:

1.The size of your plot depends on how big you have bought it and how many people you have.
2. You would have to earn 2 Pres sets, One for yourself and one for your SG, Eg. You give the leader Prestige, and then keep X amount for yourself, and then build up your own Room/Small Base.
3. You would have to be able to earn the Pres per Account, because otherwise you would be, not making to hard a word, "Punished" for having many char's.

Nice theory, but I doubt it'll ever come in..

Unless your section was built with INF, but remember "Influence/Infamy Aren't forms of cash!" :P

I lead an SG in both CoH and CoV, complete with base... in CoV, however, I'm 'only' co-leader, and I'm not the only one with base editing privileges. I suppose I've technically got the power to prevent anyone else from having any influence on the shaping of the base, but that doesn't mean I do. My XO in CoV has been quite active in helping to give the base its style and form, even if we don't always agree on stylistic choices.

To answer your question:
I am the co-leader in SG that I was one of the founders of (the Goonies), same for the Alternate Goonies, and two cov SGs on both defiant and Union. I have base entry access to... uh... something like 7-10 different SGs (mostly in coalition) with different alts.

Offhand I can remember having full privileges in Goonies, Alternate Goonies, Rise of the Defiants (union VG), and Most Wanted (defiant VG) and could get full privileges to Goonieatrics (our SG for retired 50s) if I wanted to, but I don't have characters there.

Goonies don't have a designated leader, rather the founding members and few long-time players do things according to general agreement, discussing things on coalition or goonies global. However base-designing has been left to me.

Ps. because it is impossible to fit all our (even just active) alts into Goonies, the whole SG business has grown dry and Goonies looks very abandoned . I know its not because the players arent playing, its because they are spread over servers and different SGs.. I was so hoping for the SG size change.

I too have my own little base (ok its not quite little) as one of the overlords of E.V.I.L.

Currently about 5/6 have base access (those with high rankings and those I trust) although I have given people temporary access in the past to have a little play around.

Of course the majority don't have base access although funny enough those I have asked don't seem that interested in it. I feel if you are going to run a successful supergroup (that is interested in pvp) then it really has to be this way. One of the reasons is fundamentally design. I know our base is strategically designed and if everyone had access then bits and bobs would be changed and moved. Yes things would look prettier but that wasn't the goal. Everyone has different ideas and styles so if left to there own devices would be a mish mash or start a few arguments. Someone spends a couple hours designing the base only for someone else to change loads of it later that day.

However in our alt supergroup those from E.V.I.L. are given a rank where they can play around with the base. This means it is less costly as in if they accidentally do something wrong say delete a room with personal salvage I wont be crying as it wouldn't be too costly.

Its also worth bearing in mind that not all sgs are like this. I knew a few that gave base access to its members without being a leader. I would also point out that not being a leader and having base access isn't out of your sight. There is nothing stopping you joining a supergroup and working your way up to base access.

I understand where you are coming from in that everyone should get a chance to play with base access and have there own little room but think it be a while until the devs sort something out like that.

Uh, base access or edit access? Not giving entry permission to all members sounds weird and harsh to me..

Edit access, even the most stingy overlord would let his own flunkies in surely .

I dont think you getting many members staying around if they weren't even allowed to go in your base (excluding the base kicking bug which for a time had the same affect ).

I have a base with myself and a few alts in. The only other toon belongs to my partner, and she doesn't play anymore.

With the resent abolishion of rent for basic plots, I may create a couple more bases, but they'll be one-toon SG bases. I don't seem to like being in SGs.

Oh, my villain is in an SG with a base. I don't think I've ever been in it.

Edit: And if we ever get "Character Apartments" I'll be so shocked I may get another toon to 50, or something equally unlikely.
