Hi Sar, the images don't seem to be loading for me either.

I've checked in Firefox & Opera (I don't use IE).

When I click properties on the empty box where the cartoon should be I get an address of http://fury101.the-yarn.net/

with no filename specified.

Tis odd Carni, seems to be loading ok for me atm.

It may well be the hot-linking protection I had to enable on the domain, as I was finding the comics hot-linked on forums far and wide (2 weeks into the month and I've burned through 3Gb/15Gb of bandwidth already!), so I had to find some way of cutting that out.

I'll maybe have to look into that further...

Edit: Try it now Carni, I've tweaked it a wee bit, see if that helps?

Anyhow I just get a text saying "comic" and an arrow for the previous comic...that says "comic" too.

I use Firefox and its working fine for me. Have you checked for updates?

Which version of FF are you using, and what extensions?

If it's not the hot-linking doing it, then it may be an extension.


I'll turn the hot-linking protection off for the next 24 hours, so check it again, see if it works ok between now and tomorrow night.

I have my "Referer" switched off on my browsers. Maybe that triggered something on the site.

That'll be it then Carni - the hot-linking checks the referrer against a list which I've specified (these forums being one of them) that are allowed to refer to the images on the domain.

If the referrer isn't listed (or as in your case, blank or blocked) then it'll deny the loading of any jpg images.

FF extensions like Refspoof would do this too.

Now I can see it, how rare.

Had the same thing with web apps I've written myself, assumed they'd have referrers which I could use for "Back" links. Of course one of our clients customer companies blocked the Referer header in requests and I had to redo the bloomin things. Hence why mine is off all the time now.
