force mastery - input pls

does the personal force field have that "feature" of shutting off after 30 seconds? is it a decent panic button power?
has anyone had any use out of repulsion field or is it a bit of a novelty power?
Is force of nature as much fun as it sounds? is it also useful as a panic button?

PFF is a toggle and your real panic button. FoN is more of an "offensive power" (mini-Unstoppable without the mez resistance), just watch out for psi damage and for when it drops (end crash). Never tried Repulsion Field, but doesn't sound like the best for a blapper anyway.
CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>
not a blapper at all - i am a purely long range blaster
FoN's power description says it has mez protection... has this changed in a patch or something?
so pff is definitely a toggle.... i thought it was nerfed because of pvp abuse into 30 seconds of use only
- I was talking about myself (blapper) . Might work for you then.
- Definitely no mez res (unlike Unstoppable). Not sure if/when it was changed.
- 30 secs is the recharge iirc.

As far as I'm aware it never had it. There is definitely no non-pool power pick available to blasters which offers any form of mez protection or resistance.
Burn used to, and it was taken out, I don't believe FoN ever did, although that doesn't necessarily mean it's not a good power. After all it's not a toggle, so that does give some very real advantages in the time it would take to pop a break free if you did get held.

There is no timer on PFF. You can keep it on indefinitely and it doesnt even cost much end (iirc I have 1 end redux 3 defbuff just in case). It has relatively fast recharge (something like 20 secs). It is excellent panic button, even in PvP.
Force of nature may be decent in PvE as panic button but PFF is a lot better as one. Main drawback of FON is its huge recharge. FON offers no mez protection. It is merely damage resistance power + end recovery boost iirc. When FON crashes, it only crashes the endurance bar, not touching HP unlike unstoppable.
I have not tried out repulsion field but I suspect it is a pretty naff power.
I took Force Mastery on Proximity to keep with concept (En/En Blaster) and it's a great set.
PFF is a nice panic button (although I don't really use it much)
Temp Invuln makes you look all sparkly (and I believe it may protect you too, but that's purely a secondary consideration )
And Force of Nature is an absolutely amazing power. Put that on during an AV fight and you have no worries (except Psi) - very useful in the late game.
thanks for the advice everyone.
PFF = Invaluable for ghosting/pvp protection. Doesnt suppress when clickies are used and has only a 1/20 chance a stalker will hit you through it
Repulsion Bubble = Costs alot to keep running, drains about a 1/5 of your bar per 'hit' on an enemy, regardless of knockback or not - definatly more of a 'power if you want to have some fun' over 'power i need for using seriously'. On most builds i would advise against getting it, drains full end within seconds regardless of slotted.
Temporary Invunerability = Good resistance to S/L, always handy for those Malta/Nemesis.
FoN = Blaster God Mode. Easily solo EB's, slotted 54% res to everything except psi. 6 slot it, love it. A must have power if your going force.

The status protection on Foce of Nature was removed while the Epic powers were still on test. It has never had status protection on the live servers.

Hehe, I'd forgotten about that typo too.
Cookies for you.

maybe one to use only when conserve power is ready then?
With Energy Manipulation I wouldn't really want anything to push mobs away from me.
I'm still in happy Total Focus heaven from taking it on my Defender, my /energy blaster is definitely getting more play time in the near future.
I withdraw my previous statement Cuddles infact, after i read the thread i used a couple respecs on test and played about with this power. So in conclusion after using it alot more the Positives:
Very high Mag KB, so far it has not failed to knockback anything short of a GM.
Keeps stuff out of melee range and to prevent any damage done for a short while you can bounce into the enemies and knock them all back.
Fun for playing lvl 1 tossing :P
The Negatives:
Not a team power. You'll use this when soloing, when in a group unless your protecting other squishies... doubtful, its not useful (unless the group is lacking a tank and you switch it and FON on... taunt aura and invunerability ftw!)
It does use a great deal of end which is unslottable for - but this isnt as bad as i first made out, its either a bug or works on prolonged exposure. If you just bounce in and knock a single mob over, it seems to do no endurance drain as long as you back off quickly. Whereas if your just playing with a single mob knocking him all over the place - or holding him in a corner it drains end VERY fast. So to be used in moderation.
Im going to keep it in my build for I8 on my blaster, but only because i have that spare lvl 50 power slot with no enhancement slots in.
If your a ranged blaster, i would say this would come in a great deal of use! In other words, go for it Cuddles, but don't waste slots in it, a single end mod should do it.
thanks for that luminos, ill probably take it for sure after reading that
and OVWyx... im not using any of the melee attacks in energy manipulation except power thrust, and that's only when i need to knock a stray baddie back to the tank, or just away from me.
not intersted in blapping at all with this character.

If you have test enabled i'll take you on a mission or two (catch me on the Precision Rangers Forum) to show you what its like. First hand experience is always useful.
