PVP Debt change

Long overdue and why they didnt introduce this before is anyones guess but for those who PVP an ddont read patch notes

XP debt in PvP has been adjusted. If a player is defeated by another player, no debt is given. If a player is damaged by another player and then defeated by NPCs, debt is given proportional to the amount of damage inflicted by NPCs.

so if a npc beats u up for 99% of your health and a pc gets the last 1% you get no debt, if a pc hits you for 99% of health and a npc hits you for 1% you get 1% debt now (theoretically)

When farming for badges, bring along a friend from the other side! If you look in trouble they can finish you off so you don't get any debt. XP farming with no risk!

I know, it's unlikely to happen, but quite a possible exploit there.

Hmm isnt this like how it used to be? Except now with scaling?

By that I mean before they started messing around with the debt in pvp and sticking random drones everywhere.

nah first it was: player kills you - 0% debt, NPC kills you 100% debt. After that it was whoever killed you, the amount of damage the NPC did was incurred as debt, so if you were hurt to 99% by a NPC and 1% by player, you'd still get 99% debt. Think this system is currently the fairest of all though

More or less yes, except now it is possible to get LESS than full debt when killed by a NPC. By all logic it should be really rare to get full debt anymore in normal PVP. Before last patch the situation was such that it was extremely difficult to avoid debt in pvp zones, cause some NPC always managed to nab a shot at you. And while the debt was scaled, you ended up getting it from most deaths meaning it quickly kept piling up.

After latest patch this 'piling up' should be removed. I am most happy if it works as it should.

Let it be said that I cried very loudly immediately after they introduced the first 'scaling debt' patch. Now we are where we should be.

Irritatingly, it doesn't stop the "Hold 'em just as theyre sliding past a mob of orange-con NPCs and then train the group onto them" tactic.

What can we learn from this? Don't slide past a mob of orange-con NPCs.

ah, that's quite true. it's reapplying the hold a couple of times while not doing anything else other than watching me get squacked that annoyed me
