Magnitude question
So does this mean that mesmirise is an artificially lame power, due to it having a ridiculously below-average ability to beat an opponent's mes protection?
Mesmerize is a good power because it's got higher magnitude than 3 and can sleep a boss in one go.
Carnifax said it was Mag 3 like domination (as I specified, clarification is needed) - but I have had a hit with it fail to sleep a boss. Not sure if Death mages (a test I performed first hand) have extra sleep protection, or if it was jsut that I could only find one 3 levels higher than me, but there you go...
AFAIK Death Mages have a better sleep resistance than other enemies, Mesmerise WILL Sleep a normal boss with one application.

In the reverse order, tho
But yeh, you get the idea.
If you want to test find 4-5 different bosses and try mesmerize on them (even lower levels, the MAG to wich they resist doesn't change) and see what happens.
There's some groups that have more resistance to certain status than others (nemmies are resistant to Confuse and Fear, Wolves to Immobs and slow etc..) but I dunno about CoT being resistant to sleep, since I try to avoid any sleep power with all myself since they're basically a waste of End in teams
Cuppa is right here. Sleeps are interrupted by any following damage. So the sleeps will never stack.
A hold > Sleep > Hold pattern should hold them though. But following with another sleep makes no difference.
Mass Hyp > Mes should lock down a boss too I think.
