Source of Malice (Fire/Nrgy) - Comments on build
I'm not sure Power Push is worth slotting for damage, if I took it I would go for ACC plus Recharge and use it with Air Superiority for a knockdown chain (changing Hover for Air Sup). I also don't think it's worth 3 slotting Health.
Since you can get Bone Smasher at level 2 and it's your best attack for a long while I'd try to get it much earlier.
Are you sure it's a good idea to get Flashfire that late? Gives you very little control except for Char until level 28. Fire Cages will just get you killed used on its own. I'd try to get Aid Self in there as soon as you can, you're going to get hit a fair bit.

Hmm, I don't think i would bother with power push, I probably wouldn't take fire cages either, but if I did I would slot it for damage not imob duration, I would get Smoke and Hot Feet, I would get Power Boost as soon as it became avalable. Cinders neads 2 acc 2 hold 2 recharge to be useful (it has low base accuracy). Heal isn't worth slotting as your base hp are to low for it to do anything significant.
I doubt Dark Obliteration has enough -acc to make it useful in that regard, you would be much better off with Smoke.

I agree, get Power Boost as soon as you can. It will make Flashfire so much better in the teens, it's worth even delaying Stamina for 2 levels. Really helps Cinders too.
I almost always recommend Hasten for dominators as it really helps with the recharge of area controls and the self buff.

As I said I have already taken these, in the days before I had any experience with them, so the first 14 levels I've not "reworked" yet. I will probably Respec them out, but with my experience of COH Respecs... I don't know when this will be, so I figured I'd just work round them and WHEN I get the Respec chance (of course I'll try ASAP), I'll rework the build.

One question though, With "Hot feet" must I be on the ground? The reason I ask is that I had considered re-slotting fly or squeezing in hover, so that I could control/hold/dominate from height.
My fire dominator doesn't have Hot Feet yet but I think you do need to be on the ground. From what I hear, it could use another EndRdx too. I know Arctic Air needs 3 and I can imagine them having similar endurance costs. I intend to take Hot Feet and slot it for damage, but if you're not taking Fire Cages to keep disoriented mobs in place, slows in Hot Feet could be useful. All in all, if you're taking something that end heavy you're probably best off 6-slotting it to get maximum benefit.
I suspect you'll be hurting for endurance for taking Stamina that late, but you can always see how it goes and get it at 22 instead of Cinders if you need to.
Some people say Whirling Hands is really bad, might be an idea to try it out on test before taking it. I have no experience with energy assault but in general quick blasts (for building domination) and melee ST attacks (for damage) are the key for dominators.
My general slotting advice is focus your slotting early on. 6-slot your most important controls, at least 4-slot your best attacks. Other stuff like the tier 1 blast, power push and AoE immob can really do without slots until you can spare them (quite possibly 40s..). It looks like you've spread your slots quite a bit so far, I don't think it gimps you or anything but do 6-slot Char and Flashfire next, with a little interlude to 3-slot Power Boost [img]/uk/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
On my tank whirling hands is rather low in damage compared to the rest of the set, but I have it for getting aggro, disorentating and disco dancing.

Is Whirling Hands just the same chance of Disorient as the other Nrg melee's?
I've got this build too, (only to measly 8). I was planning on depending heavily on Fire Cages - Flashfire ghetto hold, and topping up the disorients with my melee's.
I hear Positron himself plays this build too, so we'r in good company at least....
The chance of disorient is almost certainly the same. The duration should be better for a dominator than for other ATs that get this power.

Why slot Fire Cages for Damage? Why slot Fire Cages at all in fact? I'd throw slots into Flashfire first. For Cages I'd go with Acc & one or two end reduction if you're going to be spamming it.
And really you won't be spamming it. The damage isn't that good and it lasts a pretty long time. The only situation I can think when one needs to spam it would be for a Fire / Storm controller using it for -Knockback.
Why are you getting Hotfeet? Bar for PvP its only really worth the damage in the early game, and then only for a Controller with Containment going really. In the 20s onwards the damage isn't worth it. The Slow effect is purely running speed. It doesn't do -recharge like a lot of other Slow powers.

This may change with the patch currently being tested, since swift now adds to flight speed aswell. Though would be nice to know specifics [img]/uk/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
Given the current test build I think you might want to slot swift with fly speeds. I wouldn't ever 3 slot it (unless I was doing a concept no travel power build).

I'd swap Hotfeet for Flashfire in the order you get them. Stun em at level 12. Sure it won't be super-powerful, especially without slots, but Power Boost -> Flashfire at 16? Nice.
A few things that jump out -
You've got no control power except for Char until level 22, and Char only has 4 slots. I would always 6 slot the ST hold. Getting Hot Feet that early with almost no control will get you killed constantly unless you are teaming with another dom, I would at least swop Flashfire and Hotfeet around in the build.
You might want to consider Hasten since your main control are those two slow-ish recharging AoE controls, flashfire and cinders; I think you will have problems with group control without Hasten.
Wouldn't those extra slots in Health be better in Char?
Ok so I've had COV for a while now, did promise my self a 50 before switching over, which ive done now [img]/uk/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img], and with a memory upgrade coming within the next week or so was seriously considering ditching COH for a for weeks and bring out my "pulling legs of spiders" side.
If I remember correctly Source is sat at lvl 14, so the build as is on the server may differ a lil to what I have here so I'll prolly work round that.
I suppose this is gonna be a mostly PVE build with a major solo effort (If you see me INVITE... hehehe).
