Rage suppression...?
Yup, only affecting self negates all ways to affect foes, including the aura. Of course, if the foe was in the aura when the suppression kicked in, it'll take a few seconds for the last taunt tick to wear off.
Yeah, but Safeguard is an Inv tank, and isnt Invincibility one of the weaker taunt auras? Like, I dont know, a light breeze could steal all your aggro?
Oh and thanx for the (really really) swift reply - a MaX is as good as a redname
Invincibility is a pretty good taunt aura. But a taunt aura is no good when you are only affecting self.

As we suspected, Windwraith!
Better get a macro for when that Rage icon starts flashing...
Yeah, I'll do that bind in a FLASH (AH-haaaaa!), before ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!
Better....

TBH I never had any problem with the Rage crash on my Invuln because I think the 'only affecting self' means that your aura isn't debuffing or damaging anything and since Invincibility isn't damage nor debuff it should work, or at least it always looked like it works after a Rage crash.
Taunt, last given aura taunt pulse and gauntlet can help to cover the rage drop duration and keep foes on you. However the higher the levels of the enemies the lower the taunt durations would probably be (but i am convinced). If you took a lvl 53 boss like i did today to test this and just stood next to him using a aura for ages and then had blasters start attacking before rage crash to see of they get any aggro (and they didnt) but once the rage crash took effect the boss immediately did go for one. Both blasters were just using their weakest attacks only.

So Invincibilty works just like chilling embrace in the Rage crash.
Which I why I always try and Foot Stomp, taunt and KO blow if possible just before the Rage crash to cause maximum annoyance. Then you get a period of chaos but 10 seconds isn't that long and usually they are still attacking me until the last few seconds.

[/ QUOTE ]I find that very odd....That would mean that the 'Not Affecting Self' part of rage crash was coded differently from other not affecting self powers, since they don't allow any effects to other entities.
But doesnt CE also stop working when you get the crash?

CE definitely stops working during Rage crash - it might still be taunting though from the last tick, I've noticed the same thing as Unthing, a group around you will generally keep attacking then might lose interest near the end of crash-time.
I was replying to Max, as what i see the whole 'affect self' is coded the same for any power.

I think you misread me. Or I'm misreading you.
Invincibilty doesn't taunt during the crash ( don't know whether the buffs still work though ).
Chilling Embrace definitely doesn't taunt during the crash.
The Rage crash works exactly the same as Hibernate as far as taunting effect is concerned ( which is one reason why I often Hibernate in the Rage crash to top off my health ).

and thats how jiaozy doesnt lose aggro through it i bet, me i barely use it on anything other than really small teams or in pvp and so i it really is rarely used. In the face of an AV its used when i know itll "be arrested" by the time it crashes.

Lol and invincible is as good as anyother aura but more time is required to assess whats taunted by the aura and what isnt until you get a pbaoe like footstomp. Obviously other tankers with a damage or debuff aura have a better chance of attracting aggro than an invuln but secondary taunt will even pull of CE so an icetank without taunt is easily out aggroed.

[/ QUOTE ]Sorry, it was early. I actually read you wrote: "So invincibility works, just like chilling embrace, in the rage crash." I was myself under the impression it wouldn't work, and it appers that was indeed correct
Ive never noticed this before yesterday, so i thought I'd ask the professionals
When Rage wears off and the suppression kicks in, does it also suppress your taunt aura? Usually I manage to fire off a taunt just before it wears off, but my trigger-finger was a bit slow yesterday, and while I was standing there lookin all pretty, 2 people kissed the floor.
My assumption was that as I was 'only affecting self', my taunt aura stopped aggroing... right or wrong?
