RV - PvP zone or badge zone?
well i have only been on the pvp zone twice now in bloody bay and i have yet to see people who moan i have a excellant time getting the living snot kicked outta me by stalkers but i nearly got one yesterday and i have yet to get a tell from anyone who smack talks or any bad experinces there or seen any badge hunters etc there is only usally a couple teams on but we always go at each other in pvp and have a blast now to work off all that debt
Same sort of experiences here. RV is mainly filled with badgehunters who we 'are not allowed to attack'. I can understand this if theres a big concentrated effort to get the AVs but other than that..

My thoughts are on there too.
If the badgers want to rule the zone with harsh tells etc... what would happen if lots of PvP'ers turned up.......

No worries its a very hot topic at the moment its quite a hard topic for me as I'm both a pvper and a badge hunter. I personally like it when people attack me while im badging denying phil a badge is like signing a death warrant

The 'problem' with being told off for attacking badgehunters also seem to exist for people who are 'just there' for gaining XP... When people ask me not to attack them for any of the above reasons I'm always thinking 'are they serious this is a PVP zone'
Sometimes I'm wondering why it is necessary to get any XP for killing mobs in these zones. I wouldn't mind not getting any XP. The main reason I attack mobs in these PVP zones is because it is part of what needs to be done in these zones (like the battle hotspots in Siren's call) and mostly for getting some inspirations which I can use in a PVP battle.
On the other hand I'm sometimes wondering how empty (or should I say 'more empty') these zones would be if not for badge/XP hunters. The dev's have to realize though that luring people in these zones by providing (good) XP and batches is not really helping the PVP community. (as it shows by the different threads handling these discussions)
I think it is naive of people to think they can go into a pvp zone and expect people to not attack them.
They get extra XP because of the added risk that they are in a PvP zone. Sending tells to people asking not to be attacked because they are trying to get XP defeats the point.
The same goes for badges I'm afraid, if they want the PvP zone badges they have to expect to be attack.
I also get annoyed at people who say, don't attack us we are duelling. You want to duel, go to the arena.
In the rare event that I'm in a PvP zone I will expect to be attacked by anyone I come accross and I will do the same.
I have notice this as well ( more on the exp weekend tho) and just dismissed it as RV having honor among players. There seem to be some form of manners here. My teammate and I were hunting pillbox turrets and some villians showed up, it was nice that we were able to speak and told them that we will not hunt them, and only attack if we go for the same pillbox and when one side wins... ALL bets are off!
This seemed to be alright witht the badgehunters/exp hogs, as they probably saw it as a good compromise, it is a pvp zone and we could have just attacked them flat out till they got fed up and left, but as i said there does seem to be honor here in RV.
Try that next time you go to RV, tell them that when they win or you win ,all truces are off, and you will find most of them are happy to engage in pvp while the zone resets, and this helps keep everyone happy. Lets try and keep this polite pvp continuing!
And so Ultra Novas guidelines to polite PvP!
1. When all the turrets are taken, you must accept that you will be attacked.
2. If some one is turet hunting, let them know you will not hunt them if they leave you alone, however if you meet at teh same turret or if one turret is left feel free to attack the opposition
3. Do not stalk people from turret to turret, if you won a tuurret from a villian or hero complete that turret before chasing the villian. Turret stalking is rude
4. If a large group of peole state they are hunting the AVs then let them be, as a) their number probably will result in you getting "ganked" b) if it hard enought to kill the AVs without you making it harder
5. Non-Pvpers understand that if pvpers are playing the zone properly you will be attack when trying to take turrets, especially taking a non neutral turret. Ask in advance to be left alone or out of the pvp ( not to be hunted) however like i said they may not hunt you they will probably stop you form leting your side win, and they have the right of way to do so.
6. If you know that a particular part of the zone is heavy with Pvpers, don't go there, adn if you do don't to shocked to find you were attacked
7. Remeber this is a Pvp zone first and a badgehuntering zone second, however it is best to go with teh majority. If more badge hunters are there, then wait for the side to win before "rudely attack", and if more pvpers are there let it be know you are badge hunting, but you can't complain if atack, and please don't be rude and call someone a grief, you are in there zone after all
I don't get those who enter PvP and think by broadcasting that they are badgehunting/dueling they are immune to being attacked, I regularly go in to try get badges (once I hit 50 plan to work on my PvP, perhaps get the various accolades first in the hope they might help) but if I get attacked I either stand and fight or run away, if I get faceplanted then fair enough, I knew the risk when I entered.
I've been looking forward to gaining two more levels on my scrapper so I can go into RV and do some PvP. When I do go in there I'll be following the rules of the zone and the rules of the game - not the "rules" set by other players who want to restrict how others can play for their own enjoyment and gain. See y'all at the pill boxes...

If you were refering to me, then dude they were just gudielines, feel free not to follow them what so ever. I just thought that i'd share some tips that made the zone more civil. I didn't make half of them, like i said they seemed to already be there.
Last I checked, PvP = Player vs Player.... so if there's a Pvp zone... that must mean!! What! No! It can't be!

If everyone was happy with that, that's cool, but it shouldn't affect or dictate another player's want ruck with all and sundry

Had the samething in RV last night and was repeatedly called names for attacking any villain i saw...in the end i just left what a complete waste of time and zone.
Fair enough if your badge hunting but ppl were there for the Xp, surly theres better ways of getting it in your 40s than killing pill boxes. It seems to me its just a safe way to lvl, go into RV and let your bot kill the boxes tell everyone in the zone you are only there for Xp and never die.
I have had very little 'fun' PvP experience in this zone (except on the Test server event). Granted I've only been there 15 times in total due to the reasons I'll get to in a bit. I think twice I actually got to PvP people who wanted to PvP back.
)
On all other occations its been "Please don't attack we're doing badges" /tells. If I then still go at them it usually ends up in unpleasant tells. So far the Badge-whores have been worse to me in tells then actual PvPer (note : I said tells
I wonder was it a good idea to put the badges in the zones to draw the crowds in (the people that normally wouldn't PvP) or should they have left the badges out of RV and perhaps other zones ?
How has your RV experience been thus far and what do you think, badges or no badges?
