Well, it would be a bit bizarre build... If you want to play a melee hero why do not try an Ice thank for example... You would nearly "control" mobs with your chilling embrace... Our fire tank for the AoE attacks, or a DM scrapper... Frankly i do not get the point to get Flurry being a Controller... However, it will be viable of course and you will enjoy it (concept wise)... In any case from my point of view you would be more effective as a controller by not choosing these powers or in any case if you want a melee combatant, by choosing another archetype...
the reason i chose a controller is because it let me acess /kin
Fire / Kin is low defenses. So early on, when things like Air Sup are more useful you'll be taking a lot of aggro without the debuffs to survive it. You'll be a pseudo regen, using Transfusion to survive. Actually even if you take Air Sup & Flurry its Hotfeet and Containment that does most of the damage. And once you get Imps you won't be needing two melee attacks really. So I'd go for just one & Hotfeet. Still in melee range but an AOE monster instead with the Hold + Air Sup combo for single target damage.

Going to be pretty boring getting to the pets using just brawl then.

If you want to be offensive early on, I advice... get char, Ring of Fire AND fire cages and Hotfeet. Those combos will help alot for your ST and AoE damage. Fire Cages is for containment, NOT damage. Also, get as many damage and recharge buffs as possible, for quicker killing. Do NOT spam Fire Cages, it's tiny damage and wastes your endurance.
i had an idea to make a melee fire/kin troller for a while using air superiority and flurry for my atacks that will make the most of containment, on top of the damage from hot feet and my holds etc. any input would be helpfull as i dont have very muchh troller experiance. in just wondering if a alt like thins would be viable. thanks
