Toggle dropping

I haven't played my Tanker much since I7, but when I do I have noticed that my armours keep turning off after I meet a mob. Usually I get this when fighting Nemesis, but it has happened with most enemies. The first few hits drop all the toggled armours at once, and I can't see why. When soloing it is not a problem as I don't fight big groups, but when teamed it is quite annoying. I haven't been out of debt since I7.

Any ideas why?

Strange as far as i know nemesis dont have any special toggle dropping attacks, with my tank and brute the only time im toggle dropped is if i get my end drained by sappers/longbow spec opps or AS in pvp by a stalker, however the chance of being toggle dropped was reduced in a patch if i remember right.

What kind of tank are you playing?

Nemesis lieutenants and some bosses do stuns. I suppose if you were hit by enough they could drop your toggles but you would have the red text showing you why your toggles dropped.

Stone/SS tank. I first encountered it in a friendly PvP with a mate. I assumed it was his Undead maisma things that was doing it. Mostly I have been at full or near full endurance, so it is definately not that.

I haven't noticed any red text showing why, I did create a new tab just for damage text but it didn't show any stuns that I remember, and no ... turned off your armour type messages.

Which armours did you have on?

I remember something similar with one of my characters, I cant remember if it was hold or stun but some sort of PvE enemy did like 1 second mezzes, that were so fast I didnt notice it until I checked the combat log. First I thought it was a toggledrop.

Anyway, Nemesis shouldnt drop your toggles so make sure you have the mez-resistance power.

If you are not running granite and nto running rooted, you have no single mez-resistance (hold, disorient, sleep etc). At any fight, be sure to run either 1 of those at least. Once you run them both, you are basicly unmezzable except fear (note the basicly).

Against Nemesis, I had Rock and Brimstone on, but it has happened with Granite on in PvP. The trouble I find with having Granite and Rooted is that it makes me so slow I can't get to the fight before it's over.

Being slow is the draw back of granite, best thing to do here is grab tp as your travel power and tp into the mob before the rest of the team attacks that way you can grab the agro from the start.

With granite running, there are only fwe cases you need to add rooted to that. Be sure to have swift (from fitness) 3 runspeed slotted, it makes life a bit more easier.

If you need to pop rooted while GA running, run in the group then hit rooted. Outside GA, try to pop Rooted as fast as possible.

Those are the drawbacks/penalties the 'ubah' Granites suffer, even outside granite you suffer this penalty. Good side of rooted, gives a very nice regen buff.

Was that on Villains? One of the Longbow types originally fired an attack like you said; a very brief but huge magnitude mezz that cut through all protection and dropped your toggles. There was enough fuss kicked up about it that it was removed a bit before I7, IIRC.

iirc the only mob that can 1hit-mez GA/rooted tankers is Ghost Window in Recluse Victory

Many think Fear does a toggle drop..

The only AT's i think can drop would be the dominators with domination running (and insane hold spam).

A DA can easily drop granite and rooted, I do it regularily.

Of course, I need to be dead first. But soul transfer is a 10 second stun of mag 34 (or something like that, it takes Mako no problem). I have NEVER seen anything avoid a hit.

And if fear was a toggle drop, DM would be in need of a nerf.

Soul transfer is one of great examples how devs have buffed the self rezzes so much they are getting close to being broken

What is the mag of rise of the phoenix then?
Forgot about the /dark selfrez, i've been stunned by that more then once

If you only had Rock and Brimstone it's obvious you got toggle dropped after a Stun because you were without Rooted.
The slow of Rooted is one of the reason that almost any Stone tanker (if not all) picks Teleport as travel power so they can move around while Rooted.
In PvP is easier to stack enough status to drop a GA, especially against Nrg Meleers that can Total Focus you (mag 4 disorient if they're lucky) and then maybe use Stun and Bone Smasher to stun you.

It disorients? Heh, I thought the carrying idea of Rise of the Phoenix was the total invulnerability it gives. Thermal corrupters Power of The Phoenix is similar afaik, except its a targeted resurrect.

I see lot of talk about this, but have you actually tried it? I have an energy/energy PvP blaster and a.) Stun sucks, b.) stacking disorient really doesnt work. I had this same idea some time ago but Ive been disillusioned since then.

Thanks for all the help. I have obviously got to get Teleport next, and try to keep Rooted on as much as possible. Played tonight for the first time since starting this thread. It is a quick stun that causes it, and Rooted seems to stop it.
