Spine stalker tactics

Hi all,
I usually play an ar/dev blaster in sc and can usually hold my own against most stalkers with the exception of the spine stalker. Most of my tactics if hit with an assassin strike are to use ss to gain distance use trops and grenade and try to finish the stalker off with defiance or failing that phase shift. Unfortunately this is all but impossible with the spine stalker because after the assasin strike there is no point to gaining distance to set up my other options as all they do is fire off a ranged spine attack and for a blaster its good night. My personal opinion as a person with ability to see and combat stalkers with my toon is that spine stalkers in general are overpowered with the ability to finish people (blasters in particular) off with a 'quick' fire ranged attack. I'm not talking about to up coming snipe attack as atleast most times you will be able to prepare yourself while the delayed attack happens. Anyway I'd be interested to know how any other blaster would combat this type of stalker. At the moment I only have ss but in my next respec I will be taking flight which may help. Anyway any suggestion is a good one so feel free to post away

1. Carry Break Frees at all times if possible.
2. Stand in the middle of caltrops - may not stop the alpha attack but will give you enough time to turn to face them.
3. If your tactics are telemining, work out how much ground your caltrops cover and put your mines in a ring around yourself. It may not save you, but if you snuff it, they'll go off - ensuring any victory for the stalker is a Pyrrhic one at best.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

I find that like arrows or ice attacks the speed of the spines coming at you is slow, if you have any immolblise resistance powers or have teh big breakfree that lasts along time use it and get as far as you can and hit a respite , you can "outrun" the spines long enought to pop a health, now just worry about the stalker... if you have fly and an anti immbol, fly up up and away!! as i find most stalkers have super jump or super speed. Of course this is best case senerio

Erm.. the animation of the flying spines is not the same timing as you get hit. The system register a hit anyway, even when you run away cap-SS with the spine still following you. The range spined shot is just a 'slower' execute so it looks like you can outrun it.

Hmmm, Ar/Dev aye? well what's already been said is good, standing in the caltrops etc. Im guessing ur Acc is very high with TD and u say ur a Stalker hunter. Usually id say use ur melee's with full defiance but as ur AR, mayb u could just try and stack Taser and Beanbag to get a stun locked down, then a quick snipe to the head will be all it takes....

I found putting taser on auto-fire was pretty handy for those pesky stalkers who get too close
