Witht this build, I am hoping to acheive at least some ability to solo and have a good go at PvP, all I need to know now is if this build is rubbish.


I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

Just my two-cents worth, but...

Wouldn't caltrops fit in there somewhere? Certainly the most annoying power known to players everywhere who have met and loved Knives of Artemis. Stops jumps, and jumping in and away is a popular PvP tactic these days.

Why bother with provoke/taunt powers? Call me thick, but aren't you going to be using your snipe to pull, and is there any need at all for a blaster to grab even more aggro?

Likewise, shouldn't Smoke Grenade be in there for the steath and the bad guy's accuracy debuffs?

Similarly, the few times I have teamed with /devices blasters, their trip mines and time bombs worked very well and yet you have omitted these too.

I can't understand why you have chosen two travel powers?

Wouldn't health and stamina be better taken earlier in the build?

Other than that... Seems OK.

As an Energy/Devices Blaster, I have to agree with Hawklord's points. You've managed to miss out some of the best powers in the set..actually, you've only taken three at all.

Smoke Grenade makes Stalkers visible for longer after they de-cloak, Trip Mines/Time Bombs are very powerful, and can make a heck of a lot of difference when used correctly, the same goes for Caltrops.

Travel-power wise, pick one, and stick with it. I suggest the Super Speed set, mostly for the added bonus of Hasten.

Recall friend is a good added power, but if you're PvPing, you want to conserve Endurance, and Teleport won't do that. Plus you need more Endurance for attacks, as you don't have Build Up due to being /Devices, so you have a slightly lower damage output.

I usually have 2.

Fly - too slow on its own, I usually just add it for vertical movement
SS - no vertical movement on its own
TP - takes too much effort to use it as my only travel power
SJ - don't really like it that much...

But....

I could have understood hover and tp, I can understand SS and fly, but can't get fly and tp round my thinking. There are arguements, like your own, for two travel powers, but in this build, it doesn't sit right for me.

For PvE 2 travel powers is overkill, but for PvP it's almost a must (although in that case Hurdle would be more useful than Health). In this build, TP would serve as an escape button in PvP really.

And the reason why he's going for the Presence pool is to get the 2 fear powers (not for the taunt). I'm not sure I would bother, but that's a different story.
