add to that the fact that the villains only need to do a SF (a hard one nonetheless, but still) to get the equivalent of a hami-o. Also the fact that CoP trial is also a 3-team effort (hard but managable). Another thing I found when googling on hami there seemed to be a hamidon trial, yet im not sure if hami trial is same as what now is the eden trial. Now there might not be another method or there may be.. but I do think that current tactic is far from optimal. Of course there's always a brute force method for anything, but it isnt always the optimum method. After all, you know what they say.. if brute force doesnt help, you arent using enough.
Reason why americans havent found a diff way.. with all those people able to do the brute force method, lack of actually having to schedule one for a few weeks just to get enough people, why take alot of effort to find a diff way? If no-one searches, how do you expect a solution to be found?

If I remember, the old Prima guide referred to the Hive as being the Hamidom Trial. It also had a walkthrough of the Overbrook Dam trial.

I think it's just due to the illogical crappiness of defeating Hamidon and the otherwise pointless features of the Hive. It's mysterious sure but going with the instinct that there must be something more to it because you really want there to be is a little nicer than the more sensible idea that the zone is lazily put together or is an unfinished trial.

We should try this with the proper 4 teams sometimes, but I won't bother trying to organize, since I just can't seem to bring enough people online.

why does server seem to crash each time you get near hami with less than 50 heroes? Bet they added some code that prevents people actually attempting the WAI method of defeating him 
One little thing that sprung to mind though... does the ice animation always show when you use crey pistol on hami (so even when there are tons of trollers/epic holders tryin to hold him)? Cause hami is immobed and thus the anim should show, but might be diff for hami.

I may be wrong, as i often am, but the crey pistol is an immob, and hence should not stack with the holds that trollers and co are spamming. Unless hammy has 0 immob resistance. Which for him, isnt a big deal, since he's in no hurry to go anywhere and it wont stop him using his mito spawn.
On topic, i apologise for not making this event. I remember signing up a long time ago, but out of sight, out of mind. Best to request stickies of Bridger for these events. for whats its worth, i think its wishful thinking that there is some hidden device or mechanism in the Hive.
However, thats different from trying to shake the psycological inertia of the current US derived hamidon tactic. I'm all for trying new things, but the organisation of said events is never easy.
Impromtue hami raids are the way forward. Should there not be a global channel for Hami raid organising, where the MOTD can be set to specify upcoming events? get all the major coalitions to join the channel... Just an idea.

oh yeah, i know, re-read and see i phrased it a bit wrong.. we were only with a few people in the blob with the crey pistol (which indeed is an immob, not a hold.. times we have to spam "DONT USE CREY PISTOL!" during hami raids.. *sigh*), was just hammerin on the "hami's mez-resist increases, the more ppl there are in the blob" theory

There was a thread about it earlier that had lots of good speculation in it. I don't know if I necessarily believe that there's something to be found in Hive, but I can't believe that the current strategies used to beat Hami can be even near optimal. The unbelievable lag, the dependence on controllers, the relative uselessness of damage dealers.. it just doesn't make sense. Why would they have designed a raid like that? There has to be another way.
