What changed from my former build :

No more fly, took CJ/Super jump, kept Air Sup but Hurl had to go. As much as i loved hurl it didn't made sense to have two -fly attacks even though i managed to kill a few squishies in siren's call and warburg as they were running away with a silver of life left . Instead boxing took its room, filler attack, nothing fancy here but will help to build rage faster. Brawl, Jab, Boxing.

Handclap is gone aswell, with footsomp and unstoppable as my "oh snap" button couldn't find a need for it in PvE.

I heavilly slotted footstomp, i wub it.. it does wonder in a cluster of baddies with a full furry bar even added one accuracy and recharge redux.

Some of the slottings where not done in orders though..

Thanks for any feedback on the build! I may still drop punch for hasten.

Hiya Strum.

I'm no expert in brutes. But I've been fighting you quite a lot at Siren's and 'Burg, and if I were you, I'd get Hurl instead of Air Sup, just because it's ranged. Nothing as annoying as that blaster above you, throwing those nasty -jump web grenades while you can do nothing to fight back. But that's from pure PvP perspective. Should also help fight against enemies that cause AoE -jump effects, or -spd, or anything that keeps you from hitting them just now at melee range.

Regarding Hasten - I have it on my stone/en brute, and with it, I only really need two attacks (brawl and boxing, both slotted with recharges) to build up fury fast enough for it to count. So I guess switching something to it might not be a bad idea.

Looks pretty solid build, although id go with hasten and hurl as well. A ranged attack always handy to have, and with hasten goin theres not so much need for so many attacks. Other than that looks good on my build, iv got invincibility 6 slotted with 3 def and 3 others which i cant remember the names for :P helps with the accuracy if im not mistaken Good luck with watever u go with.

I should go with Boxing + Tough instead of Jab + Boxing and use the slots of Health for slotting Tough.

Try to take hasten(maybe dropping AS,u got enough primaries to make a full attack chain) when youll be throwing KO+ Foostomp every few seconds youre gonna really love it(but maybe youll need to slot more End reducers).Even if were not effetive I still would take it just for the fun.

Only one hole in your shielding...no resist for fire/cold/nrg/negative and few defense(CJ+ Tough Hide + eventual Unstoppable).Fire/Cold/Nrg blasters are gonna eat you alive in PVP(anyway fire/cold/nrg blasters eat us -brutes- no matter what we do till i7 and toggle droping chance decrement).Some hard AV's (im thinking specifically on that flaming ******* of Infernal) are gonna make you cry too ,so carry a lot of purples.

Footstomp is awesome,theres never enough slots for this (best brute aoe with fire sword circle)

And finally,dont take my words too seriously,expriment,try everything for yourself and above all : have fun .

ok call me daft, go on you know you want to

how come so many of the builds i see around, i am going to roll a brute with ss/inv, never take taunt. I understand the HP is lower than tanks but higher than scrappers/stalkers but surely brutes are in teams for agro control as well ? or can do enough damage to take our mobs and not taunt?

Input appreciated as trying to plan ss/inv build

I have taunt in my current build, didn't respec'd to the one i posted in this thread.

Frankly, as a */inv brute the taunt aura from invicibilty is enough to keep the bad guys off the squishies. Only use i could find for taunt in my current build is in PvP to keep the pesky scrappers from killing the corruptor/dominator. Even then taunt effect in PvP is not so quite usefull as you can just jump away to let taunt wear off and come back in.

My though on taunt? If you armor set does have an aura with a taunt effect or simply a damage aura (blazing aura for instance), skip taunt. With foot stomp anyway i don't need a taunt.

I see you don't have a villain listed in your signature so i'll go ahead and say, teams in CoV are different from CoH in the way there's actully not much planning ahead like you would with a tank to take the alpha strike and the empath ready to heal him.

Brutes are killing machines, i kid you not, once that fury bar is up all hell break loose!

cheers for the reply, i have a fair number of toons on cov just didnt add them to a sig here. I dont do PvP and dont plan to, so my build would be for PvE only. Have an /inv tank on coh , lvl40+ and had taunt but will try the brute without then, more than likely keeping your build in mind, thanks. what did you loose to take taunt?

Will give ss/inv a go anyway on cov

Going for Black Scorpion PPP, i know i will get the AoE immob/-fly/-jump and the AoE Blast. Not too sure if i want hasten yet. Perhaps will grab Hasten/SS for the last two power.
