Definitely not a buff. Since it goes away when yopu zone my guess would be that yoy are activating a toggle by accident.
Sounds a lot like super speed to me. Is it bright yellow and makes you run fast?

What lvl/power sets are you? If you are a /fire blaster then it could be hot feet I suppose.

It might be a gravity control hold/immob graphic, those tend to stick to your char sometimes... Were you by any chance fighting family?
Think Ive noticed a similar thing, at the time I thought it was an effect after hasten ran out but never really paid much attention and I was drunk so probably just seeing double.

As do that dark defender ones sometimes (Tar Patch and Shadow Fall).

I doubt this as it only started on sunday night. No changes to keyboard layout and its also not the result of one of my powers

No. Its like a swirling whirlpool (like a mini-galaxy) and small bubbles rise from it. And it hums loudly - which is annoying

I posted here cause I'm a blaster and figured it might be happening to other blasters 
. And I don't think the new players would like a level 49 player asking them questions - well they might but it would be embarrasing for me

Both times its happend I've been fighting in PI - against Carnies, Malta, Nemesis and Circle - just random hunting.
I know its not a power of mine. Doubtful its a buff. Its probably not the result of a battle with a mob as all effects wear off shortly after the mob dies. I have run about with this for about 20 mins before I zoned out.

without a doubt it's the leftovers from a gravity type power. Sometimes the visual effect can stick which is pretty annoying. I find it happens a lot with dark based things.

Weird thing has happned to me twice. First time was on sunday night. Second time was yesterday.
For some reason a whirlpool like thing appears under my toons feet. It kind of spits up bubbles and hums loudly. At first I thought it was some weird buff that someone put on me, but it doesn't go away unless I zone.
Why am I getting this? What is it and is there a way to stop it with out zoning?
