Anyone reccomend a good PVE Spines/Regen build?

I've tried looking around on various boards, but they all seem PVP orientated or hopelessly out of date (6 slot Impale for damage )

The idea is to level fast, and Respec to PVP at a much higher level

Can anyone help?

BU is a bit late, it's so you can have Recon and DP early and hunt hazard zones.

CJ is there because there's only one free power pick at that point, and this build lacks vertical movement.

Attacks should be slotted 1 acc, 3 dam, 2 end after FA.


PvP build... everyone has their own opinions of what's good, and it depends if you want to duel in arena, team pvp, pvp in zones, etc. Here's a try at something that can hold his own solo in zones and arena, but might not be the best choice for some teams.

3-slotted CJ and hurdle is almost like unslotted SJ, and it's unsuppressed. Very useful to kite.

Assault/Tactics by lvl 25 so you can see those pesky stalkers... and resilience for the disorient RES so the /EM types don't stack too much stuns to drop your toggles. (except blappers, you shouldn't let blappers get too close)

That is my current build, there is something wrong with it thogh, I'm SURE I took Resilience before 49 but can't think where.

Nearly maximum AoE damage and range in this build, the only thing I wish I could fit in for PvE (PvP too) would be Quills, I can't fit it anywhere!

What you want to do with this basically is a combination chain of Spine Burst, Throw Spines, Energy Torrent and Ripper in PvE, Impale occasionally, it's important you slot the AoE/Cones with Recharge rather than End Reduction so that you can just keep them coming on and on.

Bah, more to the point what use a spine/regen to me that cant herd, if Nature Spirit didn't have quills, then my Soul Drain wouldn't increase my damage as much, and the world would end

Chives build is surprisingly similar to what I had planned for mine. Do you have any end problems with Chives? I had been thinking of taking Conserve Power rather than MoG. Can't remember the last time I had to use MoG on my DM/regen so don't think I will miss it too much.

Not really, although it's been a few months now since I've stepped into a mission with Chives I don't recall there being any serious problems. It's not the endless pool of endurance most Regens claim they have, though.

I found that with my DM/regen too, most people say their end bar never goes below half way (or some such) but I found myself gasping at times. Having said that I think Focussed Accuracy is to blame, anytime I exemp below 41 I never seem to have the same problems.
Out of curiosity, is the damage from quills any good?

Slotted up it's pretty decent. Useful for stacking -recharge and -speed on mobs too.

I used to keep saying that anybody herding carnies was totally insane, few days ago I started doing that myself with my spines/regen, having hit 40... It's good to be proven right

Anyways, quills is what makes spines/regen the best build for herding, coping with the damage AND wiping the herd out on their own in the game, without it it'd just be able to take and dish out damage, not herd.

Well, remember you can't herd more than 17 things at once anymore... which isn't exactly hard to herd without Quills, and on medium to large teams there wont be any point herding.

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't feel it necessary, and I wanted fitness pool early. Of course you can move other powers earlier and drop fitness for later if you don't mind having to manage your endurance.
